Was looking for a new contract and I can't find this on the T-Mobile website but on the phone I was offered the LG Optimus Me on a 24 month contract with 100 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £5 a month. I know it's a budget smartphone but I just thought the contract had appeal.

(I am an existing customer, so not sure if it's available to new customers, apologies if not!)

This is a retention deal, and is only given to those out of contract, or within their 30 day notice period.

#3
cannot see £5 per month ?

Suspect this is a special offer for you and you only. Or perhaps other existing customers who ask nicely.

You definitely got a great deal though.
#5
thats an awesome deal, i would snap their arm off as i only text and internet, dont use many minutes, doubt i can get it tho 5 a month is normally 100 mins and 1 bolt on, either texts or internet but not both, im not sure if you normally get a phone either
#6
Probably a deal for existing customers. Not on their website.
#7

I just called Sales :-
I'm an existing customer two contracts running ( the imfamous £7.50 500 mins unlimited txt and web )
The lady told me that this LG optimus deal wasn't on but did offer me a Sony Xperia X8 100 mins, unlimited txt and web with an 8 gig card for £8.50 ( 24 month Contract ). Just checked and these are going new on Ebay for around £100 or more if you're lucky.
Twanged my line anyway -the handset will be on Ebay tomorrow if its the usual courier service

Hope this helps

This deal should be for existing customers. I called today, and there are a few phones on the £5 offer, which are optimus me, samsung galaxy ace, htc wildfire, htc wildfire S, and the motorola defy.

Which one is the best out of the lot? (i'm edging towards Samsung galaxy Ace due to the 800mhz and dedicated GPU)

Galaxy Ace is the best of the lot there, although the Wildfire S isn't bad. Good deal if you can get it.

Seems a good deal for the Samsung galaxy ace.

#27

#28

Have tried 3 times now all I am getting offered is the £5 for 12 months deal and £10 for the following, with rubbish phones none of the mentioned above :( maybe 4th time lucky ! ;)

I've tried 2x and both time's and they have said no such deal and cant help and i have a line with them the always ask who was the person that got that deal and then you say you don't know and that's it, no good. If someone wants to PM there name and number that would be great then when i ring up i can get them to match that deal.

The Motorola Defy is also a great phone with a great rep so thats worth it to.

They pretty much said the same thing to me "If you can provide a name and telephone number I will be happy to discuss it with my manager and try get you the same deal" They actually keep offering me different phones now my range has changed again :S now they are offering me nokia e2 e(something) and e(something else) aswell as a blackbery curve :S its getting annoying because the sales person will pester you toward the end of the call to buy or call back !!

I've got 6 weeks left on my contract with T Mobile - when's the optimum time to ask them about retention deals? Is there a tactic proven to get results?
#34
The optimum time to ask them about retention deals is when you are speaking to a supervisor or a manager and after you have already suggested that you are leaving t-mobile :)
#35
Hot Deal :)

quite glad that i got the motorola flipout for £38 I'd suggest that even though it runs 2.1 ecliar but more of a bargain than this i'd say - on orange website as well
#37
its not Available for new lines only upgrades. dont waste your time calling.
#38
Just for new entrants to tmobile or old customers...their mobile internet speed is horrendous in London. Hope this helps someone. (Youtube jitters constantly and sometimes just doesn't happen). If you use only text based pages or apps, Tmobile is definitely for you.

Stonking deal with the Galaxy Ace.

I'm sure if you mentioned this in the headline post OP, this deal would get warmer!

Heat added.
