This seems like a good deal if you are after one of the new fancy dual core mobiles.
This is running Androud so if you want a fruit based OS on your phone then this deal obviously isnt for you. Also if you buy it SIM free (cheapest I can find on Google is £419) you will still need to get a contract on top of this.
Get it on a Talk Mobile contract (this is the carphone warehouse network piggybacking Vodafone) at £20 per month with a £220 upfront cost.
With this 12 month contract you get 200 minutes, 1000 txts and unlimited data.
At a total cost of £460 it seems quite a cheap way of getting this phone and with it being 12 months you will be able to sell it for a few pounds next year and get a new Tegra 3 phone,

And don't forget quidco or topcashback too making it a stunning deal.

iPhone 4 is sooooooooo last year. ;-)

If anyone is thinking of getting a phone soon, I'd recommend to wait as later this year their is going to be a swarm of dual cores and all sorts (Evo 3D etc.)!

It will be but Samsung will know that and therefore charge the earth for it - especially now it's going to have 1.2 dual core

It certainly isn't an iPhone and all those people who think it is rubbish because it doesn't have an apple on it are welcome to their views but try getting an iPhone for £460 including the contract and then make it record 1080p video and connect it to your full HD TV and watch a movie from your phone in 1080p. You wont be able to because you cant.
Apple might make an OS that has been designed to be easy to use for imbeciles but i want choices and their walled garden wasn't for me I much prefer to think for myself. I am now getting rid of my N900 (a proper open source phone) and making this purchase my first into the world of Android.
I was going to wait for the Optimus 3D or the HTC Evo 3D but then i figured if i keep waiting for the next big thing then i will never get a new phone. Plus with people apparently getting ill using the Nintendo 3DS i think the same issues will be around on the two 3D mobiles above. Maybe even the Meego phone might be out within 12 months (but probably will take longer knowing Nokia).

what the hell do we all need dual core phones for anyway!!??

I think you can actually output iPhone->1080P HDTV via some sort of adapter, but I agree with the whole Apple overcharge/rage none the less

Very true, but I'd still recommend holding out a while longer with all these dual cores coming out. It will make a difference to the user IF you're going to be using a lot of tabs at once on the browsers, downloading multiple things whilst doing something else etc. But I don't think it's worth a mid-contract upgrade - nice feature for your next phone no doubt though!

if you're apple then no need for another couple of years, then release it and make it seem like they came up with the idea and it's the next best thing since sliced bread ;)

The real question is.... Are these worth the money?

Is this that much better than the galaxy s?

None of that stuff is any real world benefit. I want to know how good the camera is and how long the battery can last.

I considered this or the xperia arc. Having tried them both out but ended up going for the sony erricson xperia arc.. I found it to be the sleekest of all phones out (including the iphone). For me, a phone still needs to be light weight and not too noticeable in the pocket (although it is still big!)

Whilst the 2x is supposed to be supremely powerful, i didn't really notice anything special compared to the arc and the arc was much better in terms of battery life. I only had each phone for 3 days before I returned the 2x.

Early impressions: Optimus 2x = 8/10 Arc = 9.75/10

Wow, amazing difference. Shame it's LG though

Nice price :)

I'm thinking this is a deal. Very tempted.

Not so cool this runs Android 2.2 i would expect Gingerbread on a brandnew handset. Im now in the market for a new phone to replace my beloved Desire but the new HTC lineup are rubbish and had been looking at the 3D LG but wondered how much it would be worth a few months down the line as LG are not a premium phone brand and as all there phones have been pants and end up being £70 so what has changed with these new ones. I was going to pre order the GalaxyS2 but after reading about the HTC EVO3D i might hang off for a couple of months.

No thanks lg mobile I'll wait for ip5 but I just prefer the best :)

I went for the arc as well for similar reasons, also the camera is very good only bettered by the N8 and I don't I need dual core with 3D.

Yeah, only difference you can do much more with this phone, than you'll even do with your iphone. iPhone is a prestige gadget for dumb people to amaze other dumb people. A pure techie will see where is fails

I got this phone free through an upgrade earlier this week. Very pleased with it so far. Battery life being short and not coming on 2.3 Gingerbread are the only negatives I have with it so far.

Also in response to other comments, the fact that it‘s an LG makes no difference at all as it feels like a very well put together phone. I initially planned to wait for the Galaxy S II
but took the plunge as my contract just finished.

Anyway, this is a good deal considering the handset only price is £450 at most retailers.
#34
I also have this phone and can confirm it PI55ES all over any iPhones out at the moment. Obviously can't comment on iP5 but this LG is the best phone out at the moment.

I was concerned about the battery life after seeing posts about it, but off my first full charge I got 29 hours which is about standard fare for this type of phone.

BTW I got mine on T-Mobile retention deal = £100 up front then £10 a month for 100 mins/ultd/ultd over 24 months.

I always swore i'd never have an 18 month contract (which I ended up with to get my HTC Hero) never mind 24 months, but it was £100 for phone + £10 a month for 24 months or £100 for phone and £15 a month for 18 months (same package). So I went for the 24 months purely for the cheaper overal price even if I pay it off after 12 or 18 months, total price for deal = £340.... the phone is £450 sim free without any mins / texts / data.

Oh and the phone has already been rooted and there looks to be a big modding community building to make this phone just get better and better in future.

BTW voted hot from me.

Actually the phone is being sold at carphone warehouse for £399.99 sim free although you are forced to buy a £10 top up, making it £409.99. I almost bought one but decided to wait for the galaxy2

Ferrari? Personally, I would have an Aston Martin DB9S but thats only because I have two things you don't; Taste and an acceptable level of literacy.

Dual Core will give a better battery life.

Has anybody actually used this phone yet?

I recently lost my iPhone and as insurance is with my bank they will probably pay out in cash due to lack of iPhone stock, so looking around to see whats about. Thing im most intrested in is the touch screen as i found the Galaxy S (freinds phone i tried) to feel less responsive and luggish compared to my iphone screen.
