Another great find, but is it just me or do all the good mobile offers seem to be on vodafone at the moment?

Out of all the networks, vodafone is absolutely rubbish round here so won't buy one.

Anyone know if these will be unlocked (as it's a clearance one?) or are they easy to unlock if not?

£480 - 6,8,10,12

12 Months FREE
Send your 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th monthly bills within 60 days of the date stated on the relevant airtime bill, to us and we will credit you by cheque with £48 (month 6), £96 (month 8), £144 (month 10) and £192 (month 12).

This will save you £480.00 over the duration of the contract. In effect this means that your average line rental per month over a 12 month period is £0.00 per month.

Please note: the above calculations are based on the basic line rental of the tariff and do not include itemised billing.

Probably unlocked although not guarenteed. Vodafone are on a big drive to get their customer numbers up to secure financial backing. All the networks are doing everything they can to get as many new customers as quickly as possible hence why there are so many great deals available at the moment and so many sims are given away free. Vodafone just happens to be on the biggest drive to get most customers so most 12 month free offers are with them.

has anyone bought this and got confirmation on the order placed and the right document,
after their MASSIVE COCKUP on the 6300 deal im surprised everyone still trust them to get anything right from now on

love to know 100% authenticity so custoimers dont lose out

Only problem with all these Vodafone contracts, the majority wont allow you take your old number over to Vodafone.

This company says it doesnt allow it, but I wander if that will affect the cashback if you changed it? I know CNM said it was void the cashback
#10
does any one have the confirmation etc about the terms and cons of cashback, ie original bill? miss one miss all?

We've had this discussion a million times. They aren't going to randomly stop people from transferring their numbers, there must be a reason. All mobile companies seem to have this restriction in place with vodafone and o2 when buying online.

It was £45 anyway wasn't it??

It was in my post by mistake because it initially said £35 on QuidCo so I changed it in my post. Then they raised it to £45 anyway.

No offence but if you look just above your post you'll see that I have made the effort to go and find the t&c's and post them!

As ducky says it's a new company although same company as Phones4u and their site layout is the same and I bet that it's the same people doing the claims as Phones4u as it's the same t&c's so if you're happy with Phones4u you should be happy with this lot!

so the terms says that cashbackcan be refused at "SOLE DISCRETION"
basically if they dont want you to have cahback they dont have to , and as you have agreed withthe statement by purchasing the offer with them terms there is not point in arguing with them

thanks Benji

I actually don't think this would ever stand up in court as it's an unfair term.

We've discussed this before. It's a very dodgy statement. They shouldn't have it in there really and it wouldn't stand up in court IMO. They offer 12 months free and they cannot legally stop you from obtaining the 12 months for free without good reason. Good reason would be that you've claimed too late or sent the wrong bill etc, good reason would not be because they didn't fancy giving you your money back!
banned#17
Mushy, think you have read this wrong the APPLICATION (order) can be refused as sole discretion not the cashback
#18
thanks for the above posts, im just speculating and making sure customers get the best deal, i work in BUsiness and the terms are totally gross

but my point us us guys seem to agree with them without taking any action, ie all us guys on here can make a point to them by harrassing them via email, phone and letters
and explain that this is an illegal term,
however as i said the terms and conditions are clear, and people who purchase are agreeing to this... the offer is free line rental subject to the terms being agreed

ANY LAW EXPERTS HERE TO TAKE THIS UP WITH THEM
#19
yes madely
but if you look that particular statement comes under he heading of claiming cashback
your application for cashback]

is dis right

Welcome to HUKD!

He's right, it's a dodgy term that they'll never apply but probably keep in case someone sends out a voucher offering a million pounds cashback or something stupid, this gives them a get out clause although it's worded badly.
#21
Mushyg99, we've been over this loads of times. Thanks for pointing it out however no-one's going to take this up with Phones4u as there's nothing to gain by it. If I feel like an argument because I'm in a bad mood then I phone them up and start having a go at them because it's wrong!

Fair enough to warn people of it but don't think that it's going to get changed.

thanks benjimoron
ive been member of this forum for a long time now and have digested nearly all the terms and condiitons of all the major retailers that are branded on here

what i have learnt is and having spoken to senior personnel at various retailers, such as carphonewarehouse, e2save, coolnewmobile and some others i have found that the terms and consitions are worded dodgy to confuse people and to prevent them from making correct claims

re: back to this deal and the Phones4u retailers they are trying their best to suck the phones market as currently they are trailing. However as consumers we need to ensure we are getting a DEAL not a rip off Real Hustle

ok, four months, not a great deal of time, I'm only joking, just thought it was funny!

Anyway, like I said, fair enough to point it out, personally don't think it's ever going to be used, stick to the t&c's and you'll be fine. If you want to argue with anyone about it then phone them up!
#24
cheers Benji
you know im kidding
hard day at work lol

but you get my drift

regarding four months, thats when i signed up but been on longer than that

have you bought thisofer?

Who's had a hard day at work? I assume you seeing as I'm at home looking after the boy!

Haven't gone for this offer as I've already got a voda contract through phones4u so I reckon one or the other will get in the way of me getting another. Not sure what the limit is with phones4u or vodafone. CPW only allow you 2 at a time.

Also don't like the new 6,8,10,12 cashback claim dates. Got mine on the old 3,6,9,12 where you get more of your money back much earlier. With this one, although it works out free you're about £300 down before you start getting any money back and then you only get £48 first time so you're about £400 down at the lowest point. Don't like being that much down at any one point just in case it means can't pay a bill for some reason! Also you lose (a little bit of) interest.
#26
which voda deal did you get, the 6300?

Thanks for the advice, looks like a good seller on ebay though!
#32
This seems too good to be true, even if you have a good mobile deal currently!

Buy the phone with the £45 quidco cashback, and put the handset on ebay (they seem to sell for about £180-£200). You are immediately up £225-245.

Run the contract over the year, ensuring you get your cashback spot on every time and you stand to make over £200, provided you do not actually use the phone and only pay out the £40 monthly.

Yeah, these sort of deals are always available, this is an especially good one though. They rely on people not claiming cashback correctly to make their money. That and it's subsidised by other people who are happy to pay line rental and pay for calls etc. Some people pay for things like insurance which makes them loads of money. If you do like you say you stand to make a reasonable amount of money.

Just had another thought, could you switch tarriff midway through the year and thus make even more? Or are you locked in?

I'd say you are locked in, it's possible that you could but I would've thought a close look at the t&c's would say that you would invalidate your cashback, considering you're owed about £350 still at the beginning of your 12th month I'd say it's not even worth the hassle!!!
#36
Do you guys think this place will be reliable then with cashback ?

Im thinking of buying it, then just selling the phone.

Cheers

Vodafone will let you after 9 months, but the cashback terms say:

" The bill(s) accompanying the claim form must show that the user has, at all times since the date of connection pursuant to the promotional offer, been on the same or higher value tariff as at the date of redemption"

This probably isn't needed as I think they get their subsidy from Voda after 6 months, but I wouldn't risk it.
#38
guys a company cant really not give u the cashback IF THERE TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE UNFAIR, it will be unlikely to stand up in court as a result of UCTA-unfair contract terms act-they are designed to protect customers
#39
So what is the verdict on this cashback deal ?
#40
Too much hassle for a **** phone!
