Instore!!!

This HD Ready 37 inch LCD TV is the perfect partner to the explosion of new HD products out there. From HDTV to games consoles, the LG 37LH2000 is the ideal match. The new Twin XD Engine offers faster, more accurate picture processing than ever before with some stunning results to show for it. Match a screen response time of just 5ms with a brightness of 500cd/m2 and excellent dynamic contrast ratio of 30,000:1 and it's clear to see that this is a TV that's anything but average. In short, whatever you're watching will be crisp and detailed with superb resolution and the ideal brightness.

As usual, we would always recommend using a separate home cinema system but if you're intent on using the LG's built-in sound system you might be pleasantly surprised. Using an invisible speaker system with Clear Voice II the 37LH2000 sounds crisp and precise. Furthermore, the SRS TruSurround system creates a spacious sound that avoids the typical TV boxiness.

In terms of connections, the 37LH2000 has everything you'd expect. A rear-mounted HDMI combines with one on the side to allow for the connection of 2 High Definition sources, such as an HD-TV box and games console. In addition to this, the 37LH2000 boasts twin SCART sockets and component connections for your analogue sources. Furthermore, the PC input makes this attractive TV the perfect complement to your home computer. Topping off the wide range of sockets is a digital optical sound output - ideal for connecting this LG 37 inch LCD TV to your home cinema for a useful upgrade in sound quality.

Featuring a gloss black surround and elegant stand, the 37LH2000 matches the style that more expensive LG TVs have recently been famed for. Thanks to the latest technology, it's also Energy Saving Recommended. For a 37 inch HD Ready LCD TV with an impressive spec and smooth, good looks, the 37LH2000 is hard to beat.

This is the same one they had on special over Bank Holiday at £299. Currys will price match and is currently in store at £399, they will match £319.95 and give you 10% of the difference between the RS price and their in store price as long as you are within a 30 mile radius of an RS store and that RS store has the item in stock. This should reduce the price down by another £7.90.

I know, I'm in the market for a 37" but I do notice that a lot of the current deals are none HD freesat or freeview built in. I think the TV companies are trying to offload all these as they will seem ancient once freeview and freesat HD are up and running everywhere.

Personally I'm holding out for a freesat HD TV bargain.

Can anyone convince me that I should get this over something that has 1080p?

(Not saying this is a bad deal, just not sure whether I should get this or hold out for 1080p or even hold out for an LED screen when they are a bit cheaper).

what will you be watching that outputs 1080 to the TV?

Dunno mate, what are the options? lol - like I said, a bit clueless about this shizzle.

What will I be watching - short term Sky / Virgin HD, BR rips (MKV) through USB etc... longer term PS3/Xbox and blueray when it comes down in price a bit.

Any of that 1080?

Sky HD's native resolution is 1080i and it always was, even in 2007 :)

Not a hot deal as I bet u can't find it in store, even website states they offer a more expensive model instead...
