I know i should have picked it up but there was a flyer at the till when i was in Tesco last night saying £25 off Tesco mobiles when spent £25 in store in a single transaction.
It would save anyone having to pay extra £10 for the credit if you wish to use the phone with your current sim...unless it lets you use both...worth a go....just get your weekly shop from Tesco and get £25 off the phone too.

Had a quick search and came up with this....flyer was different though.

My current phone.

Love it!

I've got one of these, and while it is quite good, all it has done has whet my appetite for an iPhone!!!

Touchscreen is good, never had it before, but once I'd used a mate's iPhone there was no comparison.

Obviously for the price this is good though:thumbsup:

Before jumping out to buy the year old Viewty you might want to check out LG's new touch screen the LG Cookie

It is on offer at CPW for under £100

I too have one of these - and whilst generally it looks quite nice, and is easy to use, the camera is very very poor for a 5 megapixel. So the 3 megapixel Cookie is likely to be even worst (obviously this point only applies if you like your phone to have a decent camera).

It's easy to customise and unlock too with help and a free program downloadable from http://www.mygreatphone.com/forum/lg-ku990/

I Have one of these and they have the updated firmware which is impossible to unlock atm. I stayed on tesco as its actually one of the best networks out there, top up £15 and you get £45 worth of credit to spend on what you like. If your really keen to get it unlocked then read here, the cheapest I've seen it and most probably the most secure too... http://www.tesco.com/mobilenetwork/help/?page=anothersim I can confirm none of the unlocking methods from the forum linked above will work with this firmware!

Voted hot. Was going to post this at the weekend but it wouldn't let me go to my basket so I couldn't check to see how it worked...
#15
angelking, why did you add a sim card if delivery is free anyway?
#16
For unlocking this your better going with tesco and using the method they provied over the 90 days and topping up £25 that way you would get the code free.

Currently the V10g firmware is unlockable via cable and software (Tesco +Orange Networks)

All other networks should be fine to unlock and de brand.
#17
After you spend £30 on pay as you go credit with Tesco, I think they will give you a free unlock code!:-D
#18
Yeah they do £25, but only after the 90 days are up.

£25 charge within 90 days.

nice find

I have one of these- the best thing is - it has a nice screen, and also plays AVI / DIVX files. You can also buy a cheap (less than a tenner on ebay) TV out cable for it, plug it into a telly and so use it as a miniature "portable film" player. Very good for taking films on holiday, or viewing photos round your friends house on their telly.
#21
Please excuse my ignorance but would this work on the 3 network or would I need to unlock it first? Thanks.

This phone is locked to the Tesco virtual 'network', which runs on O2's network. It can be unlocked for free, if you have it over 90 days and have topped-up with £25 (possibly £30) minimum credited to your Tesco Sim card, in that period. Before this you have to pay Tesco's to unlock it.

Adding the £10 top up credit at purchase enables you to gain a discount anyway, so you're already part-way there - depends on whether you want it unlocked immediately. As others have mentioned, this phone is not easily unlockable / even possible, via any other method than getting Tesco's to unlock it for you.

Final point - Tesco gives you triple points on Top Up credits - after you have registered your number for it. Buying this new phone online will only give 1 point per £1, so Clubcard point collectors with existing Tesco mobiles should get the triple points if they buy this phone and £10 topup, in order to get the discount on the phone, with triple points. I can't see how this is possible online, but this should work in store, with an existing e-topup card. Every little helps, an extra 20 points = 20p: OK it's not massive!

Such a horrible horrible phone, the touchscreen is good, texting is easy but it's so so slow. Use my friends occasionally and it takes at least two seconds from looking at a picture to loading it in full screen, then another 2 seconds to exit back to the preview, then two more seconds to preview the next picture, then another two seconds to see it full screen and so on and so on. I could never use this as my normal phone, it;'s the slowest thing I've ever used.

I've had this phone for 9 months now on an 18 month contract.

It is incredibly slow, and the touch screen is now very dodgy. does not recognise what I am pressing and will often just freeze for 10-20 seconds for no reason.

This after I had a previously terrible experience with the LG chocolate and had convinced myself to try LG again.

Beware....... yes it's shiny, yes it looks really cool, but it just doesn't work!!!!

only another 9 months to go.......

Better get a faster phone & save myself probably 60 secs a day :whistling:
