humm tempting, the lg specs do not put resolution at 1920 x 1080 though, it says 1367 or whatever it is. Also only d sub connection which is a little annoying for what i would use it for. Might pass up on this but sure is a good price.
#2
Good price but basic, for £30 more you could get something much better so it would be a choice anyone buying this would need to make.

Very good price just a shame the resolution is so low for the size.

I'm hoping that someone can confirm the resolution, I noticed that Pixmania sell this as a 1080 monitor and there are more than a few references to it being 1080 online?

Every where online says its 1920x1080!

Yes thats what I am seeing even on Amazon.

Cheaper btw - http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/index.pl?origin=gbase13.9&prodID=1824449

err nope £84.48 including the VAT and delivery so not even close!

Can someone who has one of these confirm the resolution?

It seems to be only the LG UK site that states the 1366 x 768 resolution every where else including reviews Amazon etc state that this is 1080???

My Sony 32" TV has a 1366x768 resolution but it's HD ready to 720p/1080i, so I'd say the native panel resolution is 1366x768 but will show 1080i. All marketing pap.
#11
i just ordered one after all, i have a mini display port to vga converter already so np connecting to my macbook. And the resolution will look fine as 1080p is 1920, so its bit better then 720p native, and quite a lot of 1080p tvs dont actually do 1920, but anywho this is amonitor not a tv anyway.

My thoughts as well...

... All seem to confirm 1080 but it would be nice to see confirmation from someone who has bought one?

Having had a scan around the net, all indications show that this is indeed 1920x1080...

If so then this is HOT.

I think the manual confirms that this monitor is 1080 it did seem a very odd resolution for a 22" panel

40% more than 10p is 14p but would you buy a lower quality item for the sake of 4p on the principle it was a saving of over 40%?

£30 isn't a lot of money so rather than people falling off their chair and buying this on the basis that it's cheap, it might be worth considering whether spending an extra £30 would buy something that would be better for their needs? As I said, it's the choice of the buyer. (I'm choosing not to buy as it's worth £30 for the extras that would buy to me)

Its 720P - / 1080 i - HD ready in other words NOT 1920 x 1080p

specs can be checked ( based on product id posted )

http://www.lg.com/uk/it-products/monitors/LG-lcd-monitor-W2230S-NF.jsp

not a bad deal though for a reasonable brand and 21.5 screen

saves a fiver over buy.com so ok deal.
buy.com say a 3 year warranty is standard and confirms the resolution is 1920 x 1080

Was tempted can forgive lack of speakers, HDMI, DVI, colour, then read the review "doesn't have an option for wall mounting" ...and I'm out.

No 720p/768p TV can show 1080i, it does not have enough resolution to be able to show 1080i. 1080i has a resolution of 1920 x 1080, not 1366 x 768.

And you will see by downloading the LG manual that this monitor is 1080 it is the 19" monitor which is 720

So the vendor and the manufacturer's websites are both wrong and this is actually 1920x1080.... seems like a bit of a risk!

Here is a link to the LG manual..

http://www.lg.com/uk/common/product/support.jsp?localeCd=uk&productId=W2230S-NF&uri=/uk/it-products/monitors/LG-lcd-monitor-W2230S-NF.jsp#

The specs on the LG site appear to be for the 19" version of this monitor

tbh it doesn't matter if it does have those extra pixels up to 1080 if the image quality isn't so great

http://www.trustedreviews.com/monitors/review/2009/10/29/LG-Flatron-W2230S---22in-Laptop-Monitor/p1

and btw, it probably won't look so good next to your macbook since the mac screen probably has much better quality colours & image.
