Great price. HOT :)

Why the hell do they stop at 1680 x 1050 resolution ? Is it so hard giving those extra pixels to make it full HD ?

you can - dell havea 24in for 248 (was 179 2 weeks ago)...this is an old model, prob about 2 years old, full hd monitors were expensive then (eg the dell 24in full hd monitor was nearly £700!)

I've got a Iiyama 22" tft, put my xbox 360 in via a hdmi to dvi cable and was able to get 1080! Just have to get the right refresh rate.

But this only has VGA input
#7
Purchased one 30 days ago for £130!
Does anyone know if Tesco have a 30 day price promise? lol. They only do refunds for up to 28 days.

It's a decent screen. Sharp and clear.
#8
And only £89 with staff discount bargin
#9
oldish model but who cares its a great price so hot from me:thumbsup:
#10
Incredible Price, HOT
#11
voted hot, what a deal
#12
ok, no dvi but not a problem for the standard pc user.
#13
Great price
Thought it might be worth mentioning that the 19" wide version is now only £79!

Does anyone know whether that voucher would work on this one too?

Does anyone know what panel is used in this? What the viewing angles are like?
#15
Apologies if this appears a daft question, but will this work with an Xbox 360??
#16
Yes, will work with 360. It's got a VGA input, so you just need a 360 VGA cable to go with it.

Because it's 16:10 rather than 16:9.

if it's anything like the M228WD it may be able to slightly downscale 1080p anyway.
#18
How do I get it down to £100 delivered as posted...£4.85 delivery is added when I place the item in my basket.

Many thanks.

Given the price - have a guess.

Anyone know is you can hook up a laptop to this monitor? My dad is elderly and has vision problems so this giant screen would be great for him but only if he can attach his laptop to it (he doesn't have a desktop).

Total nonsense, you can't magically increase the resolution of a tft. It may be be displaying a 1080p signal, but it won't be 1080p ...unless you have this 22" http://www.trustedreviews.com/displays/review/2008/10/30/Iiyama-ProLite-E2208HDS-Full-HD-22in-Monitor---Exclusive-Review/p1

The Dell 24" you're quoting that was £700, isn't a TN screen, hardly a fair comparison. Expect to pay around ~£400+ for the equivalent model.
#23
bought one of these for £130 last week and it was amazing value even at that price. Be warned though, there is NO DVI INPUT! It looks great through vga though, nice and crisp, and viewing angles aren't too bad. Tried it on a few games and no ghosting that i noticed.

If you're on a 19" or smaller right now you definitely wouldn't regret the upgrade.

Yep, a simple VGA cable would sort it.
#26
Ordered and voted hot, I've put off getting a new monitor for awhile but I really wanna see what 360 games look like on a decent screen so...what the hell, payday next Friday.

You could always go for a slightly smaller one, They have an LG 19" for £79 spend and extra £11 on something else then use the £9 voucher to get it won to £81

eh? please re-read my comments
i wasnt comparing this LG to the Dell...the poster was wondering why it wasnt 1080p, well it isnt but that Dell is but obviously will cost you more (i didnt want to state the obvious regarding the cost)

Lol fair play, but im sure it was much more expensive at some point, at which price you would have expected better viewing angles, no?

True, but it was expensive before it became out of date like all tech. I would expect to pay more like £300+ now before you get away from TN panels.

Similar spec - the £10 extra is worth it if you want VGA and DVI or crummy built in speakers.
#37
Holy heck this is hot! Ordered. Will be one hell of an upgrade from my ancient 17" LG TFT.

LG stopped at that resolution for this particular monitor so that they can throw in the few extra pixels to make it full HD and then sell it as a completely new monitor for quite a few more £'s! :-D
