This is the Merry Hill CLEARANCE STORE, so won't be found in any normal Currys or PC World.
#8
Is it possible to check where all the outlet/clearance store are for pcworld-currys?

bought one of these some 18 months ago for £129.99. Great screen, would definately recommend, especially for this sort of price

Just be aware of the lack of HDMI if it is only VGA as you might not be getting the most out of your hardware and may need an adaptor (I did on mine as my graphics card only has HDMI but my monitor is only VGA).
#11
i think you should mention in the OP that these are'nt exactly brand new and that its sold in the clearance store not the normal currys

vga only is a bit rubbish tbh...

Think that's it.

Thats a stupid elitist comment. Im using a VGA monitor and theres nothing wrong with it whatsoever.... but then again, Im not a 'gaymer' and dont really need HDMI for Word, Excel, internet browsing and Photoshop. I have watched HD rips on this too and I can't fault it ;)

good price shame on location

I can confirm that two of these monitors together are awesome...

However as I am having a good day today, so won't ruin it by going to the soulless consumerist hole that is merry hill..

VGA itself does not make the image worse per se if you're using a good shielded cable, the implementation and quality of the connector on the monitor itself has more of an effect

This is pretty hot, anyone know if theres more left in merry hill?

To be honest, my 22" has both HDMI and VGA and I don't really notice the difference.

I bought it so I could turn my old pc into a media pc but I got fed up with pc noise. I now have my dvd plugged into the HDMI and the pc plugged into the VGA, as said VGA is performing just as well.

Good job I came back to this thread before I went to PCW to look for one. It would have been helpful to know from the outset that Merry Hill is a clearance shop and so these aren't going to be in other PC Worlds. Also if they are not brand new then not quite such a bargain.

i was thinking more along the lines that vga monitors don't always calibrate the screen the way a dvi would. not sure where your 'gaymer' comment came from.
#23
Could you and if so how would you turn this into a tv?
#24
I'd imagine you would have to find a freeview box that had VGA or DVI output and maybe use a converter...
#25
#savage you can registrar free on http://www.tvcatchup.com watch free live tv online showing most freeview channels and you wouldn't need an aerial.
#26
Streams live tv online on your pc desktop

What's the point of it being full HD if you can't get an HD signal into it?

fyi HD is a buzzword and doesn't actually mean a specific resolution and does not require a particular kind of connection interface.

I can claim that my mobile phone is HD :P

You could acheive 1920x1080 using VGA with mininal noticeable difference from HDMI/DVI

My LG22" can take VGA and HDMI and there is no perceivable difference between the two... On mine, VGA displays images faster at bootup (for going into the BIOS etc) whereas HDMI takes longer to 'wake up' and display the image.

Lack of HDMI does not equate to being junk.... top spec computer monitors have long since been able to achieve far higher than 'Full HD 1920x1080' resolutions for years and years via the humble VGA connector.
