Add the T.V and any accessory to take it over £600 to your basket then add code 7tribal. By adding the Sony DLCHD10H hdmi cable you get it down to £566.35 for example... thank you to MrSpoon for this suggestion. BONUS.

EDIT: If you are having trouble with adding the HDMI and using the code 7tribal use code 5tribal instead to bring it down to £569.

You could also add the Toshiba BDX3200KB 3d Blu-ray player with the 7tribal code to get a great combo for £632.38

are you like me thinking the active 3d is better?

supposedly passive does not give a full hd picture when in 3d whereas active does

Bought this last year, for £670 from Comet, this is a great set for that kind of money!

So it's cold because it doesn't have those functions, but a TV that did would be a lot more cash. This is the cheapest price for the TV so surely that makes it a hot deal?

I actually don't know many people that use the TV tuner itself and don't have some kind of cable/sky box hooked up to the TV already. Makes the Freeview HD redundant and also the same with Smart TV functions, most people now days either have a games console or a bluray player that also has those functions.

Sorry, I am new to this... what does this mean!!?? :)

also dont use the "smart" on the tv and the blu ray. but still use a pc, you dont need "smart" or freeview if you have sky etc.. vote hot
plus LG do a "smart" box add on. should you still like to have it.

Add anything to take it over £600 (E.G. http://www.tribaluk.com/product/masterplug-shad) and then use code 7tribal instead. Takes it down to £564.84.

Very tempted!

I love how people list features (like freeview hd, smart t.v, active 3d) that T.V's on here haven't got as a reason for voting it cold. Unless you can post deals for similar spec branded T.V's with the features you mention at the same or a better price your reasons mean nothing and your missing the point of this website.... Dingbats. Every single T.V posted gets the same treatment from the same goons.

Got both types at home. You can tell that active is sharper (no jagged edges) but the 3D works better on my passive tv compared to my active shutter tv. Both look HD, it's just thin lines such as power cables look jagged on passive.

I'd sooner buy passive again than active shutter. Cheaper glasses plus they're more comfortable to use. I think it comes down to what your own eyes are more comfortable with rather than which tech is better. If anyone is looking into buying a 3d tv, then i suggest that they try both techs and see which is better for their eyes.

It's not supposedly, it's true. The horizontal resolution is cut by half when viewing passive 3D TV's, so you only get 960x1080 per eye.

Samsung were working on a TV which actively changed the polarisation of the screen, so you could use passive glasses but still get 1920x1080 per eye. But I think they abandoned it.

I would want Freeview HD on any TV i bought now.

Supposedly your brain re-interlaces the images so it doesn't (apparently) appear as bad as half resolution in practice.

One thing I did notice while trying the passive 3d out in a shop was that you had to be quite some distance from the TV to view it well (ie not the kind of distance they give you in a shop to view them!)

Almost; from the LG passive (as apposed to active) approach you see 1920x540 per eye. If you sit a distance from the screen you may not notice, as the eye/brain is very good at filling in the missing information. However, it is not as good as active, as long the implementation of active doesn't creating undue ghosting which can be even more disturbing/irritating

lol - good timing on the comment ZeBadger - and I concur with your observations :)

I've had this TV for 6 months and can confirm that it is good. 3DTV in general, across both passiveand active, is probably over rated TBH; however this is pretty good with Sky HD/3D. Furthermore, if you buy this then presumably you have Sky 3D, and therefore do not need Freeview/Freeview+ as Sky has Anytime+
#32
could anyone actually register on there site? got issues with both IE and Chrome

2.2 / 5 on review centre.

For a little context, play.com has 1.8 as review centre is only used by people who want to complain :P

No-one mentioning the gold plated HDMI cable? ;)
#36
Looks like a great bargain but only 3 hdmi :(
#37
Good Deal, people moaning about smart TV and freeview HD and so on, ever heard of Sky tv/Virgin and a games console. Pretty sure 95% of people have that. Therefore for most of us a Smart TV is irrelevant. :)

Just bought this tv, delivery is friday.. cant wait for some 3d films this weekend :)

Expired :( Doesn't seem as if you can use the HDMI cable to take it over £600
#40
The code will still work if you ring them up. Their systems are not working correctly for multiple items over £600.

It means you can't get quidco :( but still a deal - I have just ordered :)

I changed for a different hdmi lead which is 1.4 spec.
