Yes Lidl may be way cheaper than Waitrose but not as good. Christmas is all about getting a bit extra and spending a bit more on better quality products than you normally would.

Turkey retailer of the year is Morrisons.

Or its about the birth of Christ....

How do you know for certain that your over priced Waitrose turkey is actually any better than those from Lidl?

That's true, it's the bronze free range @ £5.75 / kg I was looking at. I've not seen better value elsewhere.

That's just the same as assuming John Lewis only sell good stuff. Name dropping and a self-induced good will towards these companies...

I know for a fact that Waitrose use different suppliers to other Supermarkets for their fruit/veg to ensure it is the best and freshest. I'm guessing that the same applies to their meat.

Yuck.

Fore Rib of Beef for us this year.... Turkeys been off the Christmas table for years now. There's nothing good to say about it. Chickens tastier.

Each to their own :)

Happy Christmas!

We have a leg of lamb every Christmas. Its our fave. Not this year though as we all have flu. Christmas is postponed....the lamb will have to wait.

Quite a fan of lidl and I like a lot of their stuff but meat wise they don't have the same quality as my local butcher.

Oh please, the local butcher is one of the biggest rip off merchants there is!! However, I suppose some of the ill gotten gains are going back into the local economy.

Local butchers tend to be cheaper than supermarkets I find. Supermarkets seem to have grossly inflated prices on most of their items these days
