From Monday 21st, Lidl will be getting in their boneless turkey joints for £5.99! Some stores may have from Saturday 19th though!

I can vouch for them being good as had to get 2 years ago when Asda did not bring my turkey on xmas eve! The Lidl one was so good we had it again last year

This is my first deal so hope its ok!

Ooh I live by Lidl I will nip in and get one of these - were going to family for christmas dinner this year but at that price its worth shoving in the freezer for normal dinners.

I remember Morrisons were doing 2kg Turkey breast crowns recently for £7.99 which seems a better offer but not sure if thats still available?

£6.99 in mine?

About 4-6 per kilo I'd say.

Also, in reference to it being 'price per kilo' the brochure simply states '1kg turkey breast joint, £5.99' not price per kilo. I'd therefore assume (and judging by past years) that they will just be 1kg joints. But hey shoot me if im wrong!

Are you absolutely absolutely double checked sure it says £5.99?
Anyone else?

Strange.
I have the weekly and the Christmas brochures - they both say £6.99/kg.

At that price it must be intensively reared.

If you can't afford free range or better then don't bother buying at all.

Unsurprising to see that its your 'first post' (under that name anyway!)

If I want a turkey to have a nice life, I'll keep it in the garden, not eat it! I'm pleased that Ive cancelled my Duchy Turkey that would of cost £23.99 to get this instead...bit of money saved!:-D

They are selling turkey crowns for £5.99 per kilo and bernard mathew crowns for £6.99 a kilo. The turkey joints are just £5.99 each. Same in all stores.

Well if you're quite happy to eat a bird which had a horrible life in a shed and couldn't go out then obviously ethical eating means nothing to you. Better welfare for animals and poultry should concern you; not only do they have better lives but they taste better as a consequence.

The cheap, intensively reared birds sold on the supermarket shelves are injected with water and whilst being reared they are usually given growth promotors and antibiotics because they are killed before reaching maturity. Personally I wouldn't feed this to a dog never mind eat it myself or give it to guests on Christmas Day. In fact these are the same birds which end up in rubbish Turkey Twizzler school food and dog meat for that matter. Quite frankly there's not much price difference in a kilo bag of poultry flavoured dog kibble compared to the price of these 'celebratory' yet low quality birds.

You could have saved money by choosing a free range bird rather than originally choosing an organic one from Duchy.

It definitely is 5.99 for a 1kg joint in my local lidl! Great find - thanks for the tip! I got a joint of gammon in here too for £4 and it was gorgeous! Plus all their veggies are only 29p a pack! Winner all round in my book :w00t:
Merry Christmas Everyone :stocking:

I cooked this joint this evening and Im afraid it was awful...half was good turkey breast but other half under the skin was disgusting fat which had to thrown away. I was hoping to have some left over for the next night. I wont be buying this joint again...sadly
