For those that refuse to go to Lidl: "A fool and his money are easy parted"

I only go to Tesco, Sainsburys or Waitrose for the odd treat as Lidl is at least as good for most things.

People are brainwashed to believe that brands like Heinz, Kelloggs and Walkers are really worth the premium (often at least double the price)

Pretty pointless

People are brainwashed into thinking the discount rubbish is actually any good. I've shopped at both Aldi and Lidl and although they do offer a few decent products a large portion of their stock is terrible and often similar priced to most supermarkets. Morrison price match both Aldi and Lidl and you get better quality products, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I feel the discount products are massively overrated by both media and customers

The salt content in these is ridiculous you must have no sense of taste

Worst crisps by far!

Avoid

Lidi and Aldi do the worst cheese and onion crisps I've ever tasted. Not being a snob, I do most of my shopping there, but they are terrible.

Is the salt content actually higher than walkers or any other crisps?

0.35g per 25g for lidl

0.32 per 25g for walkers

By the way you were going on, I thought the lidl crisps would have been double the salt content, nope 0.3

They do have double the flavour though

Mmmmmmm

Ignore Jase99 he'll make up any old drivel to try and knock Aldi and Lidl, not one for letting facts getting in the way of a good argument, bit of a nutjob if truth be told. Hot from me!

Morrison price match both Aldi and Lidl

..................... and Aldi's response?

"We don't price match because that would mean raising our prices"

Love it, the little guys are dictating what the big guys have to do.
Prices are coming down because both Lidl and Aldi are forcing the others to lower prices.
Morrisons's in particular are 'terrified' and IMHO are the main suffers. I have a few large Morrison's close to me and it's nice now to walk around there at your leisure. More staff than customers at times.
Pile it high, sell it cheap. :D

I think these are pretty much made in the same factory as walkers. Big brands are just scared of loosing their brand equity which they built by spending a fortune, after charging customers premium for years. Now customer are going for Seat than Audi.
I do prefer Aldi to Lidl in terms of general overall quality and staff attitude. Waitrose have also been very competitive with their half price deals and pricing. As a bonus enjoy free good cup of coffee and newspaper.

The crisps are OK, nowt spectacular.

Bit of a hit and miss. They taste as good as walkers, though only at times. The seasoning is non-uniform. I have found lumps of seasoning sticking onto crisps on a few occasions that makes it un-palatable due to high salt levels.
