Description:
Four years in the making, Life will set a new benchmark in family entertainment and natural history epics.

Life is the latest wildlife epic from the BBC's award-winning Natural History Unit. It has the revelation, cinematic style, sense of place and emotionally involving individual sequences that that were the hallmark of The Blue Planet and Planet Earth, with all the scope, detail and content of an Attenborough epic, and the addition of close-up, intensely dramatic new behaviour - all captured by the world's top wildlife photographers with the aid of the most cutting-edge and sophisticated filming techniques.

This ten-part natural history blockbuster, shot in HD, is the definitive exploration of the diversity of life on Earth, revealing the most spectacular and fascinating behaviour driven by the endless struggle to survive. Life stars a cast of 'box-office' wildlife characters, filmed on every continent and in every habitat across the world, with each drama-filled episode entirely dedicated to one of the planet's ten most important wildlife groups. The series has the revelation, sense of place, cinematic style and emotionally involving individual sequences perfected in programmes such as The Blue Planet and Planet Earth, but with the addition of close-up, intensely dramatic new behaviour - where the animals are the stars.
Special Features:

* 10 Making Of Diaries For Each Episode

550 minutes running time

Are You Sure This Is The Blue Ray Version ? The Picture Is Of The Blue Ray Cover But There Is No Mention Of It In The Product Description. At That Price It Makes You Wonder If This Is Just The Standard Dvd Version. Anyone Know For Sure ?

You can just get episodes from BBC iPlayer HD for free and convert to fit on ordinary DVD with not much loss of a quality. If it was not BBC i would have been quiet by the way – i believe we support them enough for what they do – just hearing their scaremongering news with word ‘Obama’ repeated dozens of times makes them far worse that other clearly ‘buyable’ media – and we HAVE to pay for it. With all the clever editing for regional/world/faith brainwashing they get so much dosh from flock manipulation alone and yet still greedily claw £150 from each of us.

Doesn't iplayer content have protection on it to stop this? Or is it a sneaky way around the system that I'm not aware of?

Anyway iplayer HD quality is nowhere near the standard of 1080p blu ray discs. Just comparing files sizes proves this.

I admit when this bluray is £34.99 it may be slightly more tempting to take your option but at potentially £22.49, it would be rude to deny the great sir David of seeing his amazing footage in glorious FULL HD.

I've actually series linked it on Sky+HD but voted hot hot at that price
#15
i am sorry olmer but i fail to see where regional/world/faith brainwashing comes into it,when a brilliantly filmed and commentated natural history series, which takes years to compile and produce costs a mere £25...
#16
Can someone please post a clickable link for the topcashback link as my phone is not up for the task. Cheers

This isn't a bad deal too...maybe better to buy with amazon if you need it before Xmas. If you can wait then cdbang would obviously be best.

Cheers.

I'm surprised that no one's mentioned the VAT and £8.00 handling fee that would be payable on this, making it more expensive than simply ordering from Amazon UK.

What are you talking about £8 fee plus VAT??? I've never been charged a handling fee or VAT via BangCD.

Just a point to note for people wanting this before Christmas. I've just gone ahead and ordered from BangCD and they're awaiting shipment and that's not due to arrive until the 22 December so it's highly unlikely you'll receive in time for Christmas Day. I wasn't too bothered as I've managed to get it for £22.50 inc cashback via Quidco - great price

If you insist on going down that route there are better rips than you'll be able to make yourself already out there, taken from the broadcast version. I honestly don't know why people rip things from iPlayer, as if it's any less illegal than downloading a decent scene release.

For most other series 720p is good enough, but I'll be buying this and transferring the uncompressed video to my NMT, like I did with Planet Earth. Takes up a huge chunk of HDD space but for this Attenburgh stuff it's well worth it 8-)

After you've watched a few of documentaries with an American, who always narrate like it was some sort of game show you realise he truely a legend is!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't BangCD ship from Singapore? If so, then anything above £18 is liable for import duties and the Royal Mail's £8.00 handling fee.

Just watched the last in the series about primates! Absolutely amazing...I've gone ahead and ordered it! Don't even care if I don't get it in time for Xmas.

I don't believe the £8 fee is correct. I checked this out and hasn't happened to anyone yet from bangcd.

Stunning series - well worth it in high definition. Could also be an ideal gift.
