Life On Mars - The Complete Series One
Sam Tyler (John Simm) is an ambitious young detective determined to keep the streets of 21st Century Manchester safe. However, the hunt for a serial killer becomes a personal vendetta when Sam suspects his girlfriend has been kidnapped by the very man he's tracking down.

But after a near fatal car accident, Sam wakes up, dazed and confused, in 1973, struggling to understand what's real. Has he gone back in time? Or has he simply gone insane? His new boss is hard-nosed DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister), a man who gets results by trusting his gut instinct and using a 'fists first question later' policy.

Thrown head-first into this new world, Sam faces some of the hardest cases he has ever known. He has no idea why he is in 1973, but maybe if he can work out the reason, he can get home...

Life On Mars - The Complete Series Two
"My name is Sam Tyler. I had an accident and woke up in 1973. Am I mad? In a coma? Or back in time?

Since DCI Sam Tyler awoke, dazed from a car accident, things have felt a little bit off kilter. About 30 years off kilter... In this thrilling final series of Life on Mars, Sam continues to try and work out why he's ended up in 1973 and in the meantime tries to make a difference to those around him. The team, led by DCI Gene Hunt, continue to fight crime and fight each other. Their investigations are just as though as ever - from investigating a spate of bombs in the heart of the Irish Community, to a murder in an underworld boxing club, and even undercover with some swingers in middle-class suburbia.

But as the series unfolds, Sam is still driven by his quest to find a way out of this world. What has happened to him? And why is he there? Maybe if he can work out the reason, he can get home....

"Availability: Usually dispatched within a month" - which means they have to get it from the suppliers rather than have it physically in stock. From experience it usually takes a lot less than a month; about 2 weeks.

Have season 1 on Blu-ray. Series wasn't shot in HD so not a huge difference in picture quality but the fact that there are only 2 discs compared to 4 discs in the DVD edtion is a bonus and at a cheap price its worth buying.

LMAO, yeah good luck with that:prop:

yeah i cant buy these - if they arent shot in HD, then all this does is puts more on the discs. i imagine when they bring the simpsons out on bluray it will be a similar situation.

bottom line is if its not HD picture, stick with dvds, they are cheaper lol. ive never seen the series either, but im not fussed on it. my ex wife liked it though.

So surely they shot the series at resolution better than 480p? If so the Blu ray version should look better than DVD?

Hot deal by the way.

It was shot in 16mm which is roughly twice the resolution of Full HD. But, and it is a big but, the blu ray is just an upscale of the normal TV broadcast. Apparently it looks better than the DVD due to having much less compression etc. So its gonna be the best picture available (though not strictly propper HD) with the benefit of HD audio track. Whether its worth buying if you already have the DVD only you can decide.

Great series.

"Freeze you are surrounded by armed b@[email protected]!"

Gene (Jean Genie) Hunt is the nuts.

Not sure I will upgrade to the HD version.

You need to use the Zavvi 10% code found in the vouchers section here on HUKD. It's only valid this weekend. And yes, Ashes to Ashes sucked!
