Very interesting... do you think I could programme it to use as a security light when on holidays?

You can set it to work on a timer basis using various android/apple apps, or you can manually turn it on and off remotely through the LIFX app. If you've got other smart-home devices, like PIR sensors, then this will work with them too through apps like IFTTT.

Many thanks for your help, appreciated. Seems like a great bit of kit!

Yeah I did get 5 from Argos back in Nov/Dec for £25 each but this is still a good price. I have 8 of the older model to and love them. You can set them to gradually wake you up in the morning with the alarm, you have use your phone, Watch or Amazon Echo

You should be able to use IFTTT so when you set the alarm in echo this riggers the bulbs to gradually come on.

Both out of stock now. Not Zigbee system uses up one of your wifi devices so you may need a better router, limits the number of connected devices in your house.
