This listing is for manufacturer refurbished handsets and not new handsets.
I'm not too fussed about this nuisance caller blocker. I just needed the new handsets and it had r.good reviews in most places.
thats why i said i'd already gone for the other deal,

Not bad, but you're not comparing apples with apples, the 6500 comes with the best thing in the world for nuisance calls..... a blocker!!! 8)

and u are right in built up areas it struggles....I went to my local tesco (0.3 miles) and it was breaking up...I could still hear the person but it was quite blurry and broke up abit
the baofeng is a ham radio which is different to this... also it looks like it requires a licence to operate. so not sure. the most popular baofeng seems to be the uv-5r...thats the one I was looking at.
These would be useless for built up areas and the claim of 5 miles would be for a wide open space with no obstructions.
Hands up if you ever said 10.4 for a copy back in the 80s.

Over.

Are these any good for road trips where you have a number of cars and would require a decent range.

I assume they are unlicensed - what are the implications of using unlicensed radios ?

Seems like these are licensed for Europe:

Cheapest I'm able to find, newest in the range of Panasonic DECT phones and has glowing reviews on Amazon. Much better than a BT phone. Answering machine and a standard base unit included.

Hmmm. Not voting either way. Its cheaper than elsewhere but its been hovering at around this price on Amazon for a few months. Normally hot deals don't last that long.

This is not even on offer, So how the hell can you post a hot deal? What makes this hot?

maybe because its cheaper than elsewhere makes it a deal ?

These are great phones! Speaks out the incoming telephone number or if this number is in your phone book speaks out the name you have assigned to the number.

Purchased them from amazon in Oct 2012 for £67 from amazon themselves.
Bought the quad pack for around £80 from Currys a month ago. The menu structure is a bit fiddly but otherwise very good. Sound quality is quite good and the shared phone directory is very useful.

Why the negative? Can those voting find it cheaper? If your gonna vote negative would be good to know why rather than being anonymous!
Got sent this from Plantronics on loan for a pilot project and I second pimmzy.

Sound quality is really good and connecting it up to the pc was quick and simple.

great headset, price not unusual but voted hot because the product is a good deal at this price
wow they look big! you must all have huge necks!
Yea i bought these at 38.35, brilliant headset but wouldn't class it as a deal - not voting either way
They are a good headset, I use them myself but I got to say that this isn't a 'deal' as they have always been around the £35 - £40 price point... Sorry but voting cold.
