(game only) now selling for £14.00 odd pence on various sites, such as asda, tesco, currys, dixons, the hut, etc.

(cue pack with game) now 17.00 odd same stores.

some people have had trouble getting theres, so more stores= more chance at this price.

i promise you that i have had this game since november 08 release and although a little tricky at first, it is an incredible game. you just need to get the right power as you strike a shot with wii remote, just like hitting a real ball with a cue.

there's snooker, snooker plus, 8 and 9 ball pool, billiards, bar billiards, practice, trick shots, etc, to keep you entertained. no online, but real fun in 2 player with friend/family. loads of tournaments in one player career to win as you start at 52nd in the world, whilst trying to be number one.

you need time to practice, but when you start winning, you will be hooked. i picked it up quite quick but still needed to perfect some shots and have managed several final wins, two 141 breaks and 25 in the world. so if you think you can't beat it, just keep trying and you will succeed.

there are not many games that are worth upto £40 for and get left on the shelf. however, this has been my most played game over the past 3 months and through experience, i would easily have payed over £40 and not been dissapointed with the game and use it has had.

i have had a real pool table for over 4 years, but just don't have the room and had to keep moving stuff to play it and then put it away. this is a god send, as you just need a wii, wii remote and game, with no need to worry about space.

i find it better with the wii remote as you actually play as you would a real game. instead of adjusting your power with a controller and pressing a button, you actually determine the power by the power you push the shot, (hence as in real life).

even a child as young as 3 can play better than on a real table as there are even loads of help aids to suit different peoples styles. you just turn aim aid on or off and increase or decrease to help predict the correct power if having trouble.

this game gets 10/10 overal from myself, as i have had plenty of time to test it properly. as stated i would easily pay over £40 for this and at 14.00, it's a steal.

just a qiuck note to people, if you do get the cue version and have trouble, just play without cue, like i did. so if you want to save room and ain't bothered about cue, save yourself a few quid and get game on it's own. give it time and once you got the hang of it your be thanking me.

surely snooker is best played in reality, would rather join a snooker club.
#2
hmmmmm
#3
yes, snooker is good for real as i have played both in club and the game.
have you played this game?

negative remark for a game not played, when i have played for 3 months is not justified.
also it's listed for people to look for deals and £14.00 is a lot cheaper than paying and travelling back and forth a snooker club. infact i paid more for a pool table 4 years ago, than i paid for the wii console and this game. so really, i would gladly choose this option for home use, due to the space saving and price.

hope people realise that voting cold is letting genuine people miss a classic.
thanks.

if something is bothering you then just ask, i can't read minds. i have write everything i can about this on here as indepth as possible. if you need more info, there are reviews left on play.com, information on avforums with votes and thesnookerforum.com. hope that helps, but will gladly give more information if asked.
cheers.

AWFUL game, avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#6
one last thing, this game was previously receiving hot upto 280+ at 17.99 cue pack only.
now listed cheaper for game as i have cue edition and don't bother with it, plus it comes in a large tin and takes more space than just game.

despite same game and lower price, vote cold = confused

so every game that people can't master, must mean it's no good.
if someone can't play well on a real table, it does mean the games no good, it just means you need more practice. the same applies to any sport or any game. maybe thats why so many people try and use cheats and this one don't have any.

could i ask what was your highest break and how many finals did you win?

also still does not make sense why other received hot 280+
why did you not mention on there?

no my friend, one second and i'll give you a few links and the link for reviews.
one moment then let me know.

and to compare one sight price and reviews try this.

let me know and how you get on.
hope this helps cold voters too.
cheers
#14
link sorted now, sorry about that.
cheers.

i paid £34.99 for mine when released and still quite expensive, so very cheap price for replay value. IF YOU BOTHER TO PRACTICE, as takes a bit of time to adjust, then the fun begins.

HOT PRICE.
#15
i'm voting hot but only because you can't get it cheaper. I'm not a massive fan of the game. good price though.
#16
Doesn't matter how many posts you make defending this game, if people don't like it it'll be cold :whistling:

WOW this guy really loves the game doesn't he.

Unless your a big snooker fan, this game is only ok. Sure the mechanics work well but its just a little boring!!

you hit the nail on the head there!

however, i thought the idea of these was to vote hot or cold based on the price comparison. games will always be liked/disliked, regardless of how good and even if it got 10/10 by every mag. just because someone does not like or has not spent enough time on it to understand properly, does not mean it's a cold vote.

does that mean when the pizza hut offer was in the 1000's hot, if i did not like pizzas, regardless of how cheap, i would have to vote cold..............................little silly, don't you agree?

actually, you are wrong. i used to play snooker in a club over 13 years ago and the last time i played pool, including the table i have at home was 3 years ago. it's only since being released on wii console that i have got back into it, with the convenience of being so much simpler to pick up and play when needed, to fit around your life.

as said before, it's all about the price, so let people make there own mind up on the final experience. this game is for patient people against the computer, so needs time. don't expect to pick it up and suddenly turn into ronnie o'sullivan within minute. 2 player is more fun to give you the experience before jumping into career. i can name loads of games over the years, that have been a complete waste of money, but i only vote on price comparison and leave views to individuals to place on review sites. name the best game you have owned and list it and guaranteed, not everyone will agree.
people need to remember it's only a game, not a miracle.
yes the game is great in my opinion, but i'm trying to defend the low price as i paid £40 for mine.
if i was just defending the game, i would just leave reviews elsewhere. however i'm hear pointing out a price for value.

you have just proved my point. yes, i do like pizza, so if other people who don't, like you said you feel there must be something wrong in your view and does that justify a cold vote, because they as an individual don't?...................no in my opinion.......................if they don't like pizza, then don't read the thread and leave opinions for people who actually are interested.
same applies hear, if they ain't interested, then don't read, rather than leaving cold for a cheaper price.

I actually have no idea what you're talking about now, or what point you're trying to make.

Don't see how you can play snooker with a wiimote and it be even 1% like the real thing.

Golf - yes
Tennis - definately
Snooker - nope (not for me)

okay, no problem.
just to confirm, you play tennis by swinging the remote like a racket as your well aware of. with this, you hold and push the remote forward. if you get the cue edition, you have a screw together smaller cue that your wii remote attaches to. you then use it as a snooker cue. wscreal08.com have trailers of people using if your not sure.

i think it's great people reading, however, if snooker is not peoples thing, why read whole thread.
the thread is clear at beginning stating snooker, so little strange why people bother looking further. i would not go to watch a tournament, whether being snooker, tennis or golf and say to the nearest person how bored i am, as i don't even like the game.
#25
Well, I'm voting hot :)

Like you say, cheapest around, and reviews haven't been too bad!

Plus, I think you deserve some heat for all the effort you've put into your thread... loads of people would put some half-hearted title and description and then leave it at that. Welcome to the site, and keep it up! Very informative views :)

i will try to keep it simple.

(1) i tell people that £14 is cheapest for this game anywhere.
(2) people make negative remarks about the game, not the price, still vote cold.
(3) i try to explain it's about the price, not the game.
(4) you saying there is something wrong with people who don't like pizza.
(5) i wouldn't say that there was something wrong with people who don't like this game, as thats there choice. saying that something is wrong with someone because you like it is wrong.
(6) i'm not trying to force people to buy this game, i'm pointing out a price drop, hence hot deals, not hot reviews. like i said before, reviews are there as opinions. however, people should be left to make there own minds up whether they want to give a go or not.

you have helped me in one manner though. this site is pointless and not worth listing any offers, as it proves it's not all about the price and more about people just giving there own view on the product.
if a golf game was £5 and was rated as good and bad by various people, it should not be about commenting on the product, but more about the value.
cheers and i'll be sure to take your first advice and decide to keep any future offers to myself.
all the best.

i think your about the only person that actually realised my point. i did try my best to put as much effort into explaining this game in full. a few people have played this for 1 hour and given up. i was the same at first and after 3 months have only started to really beat the hardest players which i have now unlocked. if you do get this, please don't let it get to you and as soon as you get over a 50 break, you have so much satisfaction. win a final and you are just hooked. i would never have believed that i would have ever got 2 141 breaks. if you need more info or help you can goto snookerforum.

remember, do not let the computer beat you. practice first and play 2 player before even attempting the career. you will need practice and plenty. i go on snookerforum, so if you need advice in any way, i will be more than happy to help you out. i am not the only person who has/like or got a high break, so it's not impossible.

(1) Ok
(2) People tend to do that on this site
(3) It's not just about the price, it's about value. If this is the kind of game where you only play for about an hour and then stop (as you've already said), it's relatively expensive. If you were to buy a game for £40 but play for over 100 hours, it's relatively cheap. Therefore the hot deal is the more expensive game imo.
(4) Taken in context, it was tongue in cheek comment.
(5) That actually doesn't make any sense.
(6) In your opinion the price drop is a hot deal. Forutnately or unfortunately, not everyone shares that opinion.

I think you need to just chill out and accept that not every user of this site shares your opinion of what is a hot deal or not. Think about it, every person who makes a post thinks that they're posting a hot deal. Unfortunately, not every deal is, hence the opportunity to vote both hot and cold.

thanks for all your comments, at least people have got good views!!!!!!

your right, it's more than likely a rubbish game along with many others. however, despite our views, there are some that will always disagree.
i think tiger woods 09 on wii is excellent, along with fifa 09 on 360, etc. yourself or others may not share the same views, but it is upto individuals to decide to make there own minds up.
i just list a price for people to make there own minds whether they want it. if they do, fine. if they don't fine. but i just like to let them decide, without making comments like it's rubbish. ok, i accept that people say it's rubbish, but i don't. however, the difference, is i'm not saying things "like avoid at all costs", as that is upto the individual. reviews clearly state that it's great for patient people and so that it takes time to adjust.
i know you may think i'm an angry person. however, i must be alot more patient and less frustrated than others that comment on how bad this game is. how else can you explain that i have won several finals, unlocked all hard players and have many centuries, including two 141 breaks. i pretty much guarantee most that played this, could not get the hang of the controls and gave up within half hour.
instead of us all going over and over, it would be great to hear how long people played this for, there highest breaks and how many quarter, semi and finals they got to.

i'm not ANGRY AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COME ON OWN UP WHO SAID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as i am aware, this site acts like a forum. You put the offers on, we vote on whether it is hot or cold but leave our opinion. I actually voted hot because it is a good price but i'm gonna leave my opinion of the game. You are obviouslya die hard fan but others wouldn't enjoy this and give up after a while!!

If i listed my fav games, i'm sure others would tell me they are terrible while some might agree. BUt thats their own OPINION which they are entitled to, just as i am regarding this game. Its not right or wrong, its an opinion.

PS it is probably the best snooker sim i have played but comes no where near the real thing!

Please explain how i can be wrong when i give an opinion.

well said, that's completely true.
everyone has a right to an opinion and that's why i defended my thread, as i have the right too as well. i write the thread, so felt i needed to defend it, especially when certain people actually try saying "avoid at all costs", or "don't like snooker". as a result, i was just pointing things out, as i feel i made the thread, so am responsible. my views where not to be agressive, but to put my own opinion. i accept people like yourself, who may like snooker or pool, but left opinion on game as were not sure. that was sensible, however, just got a little confussed why people who don't like snooker, read a snooker thread. i did state, "like snooker" at beginning of my thread, so i hope you can see my point. like i said before, would you go and see a tournament, whether golf, snooker or tennis, when you don't even like it.
i have not been on here long as wanted to see what it was like. maybe people just get bored and look around at things to comment on, but i don't see the point. i would only look at things that are of interested to me and vote hot or cold. if i really must leave a view i would be a little more sensible and say something like "well i was not keen on this game, but if you have the patience, it's a cheap price". i suppose most people leave threads and keep there mouth shut, but i'm not like that. if i feel someone is being a little ott or sarcastic, i will say my peace. maybe people are not used to it, but that's the way i am.
to be honest, the true problem is that of the first comment, going to a snooker club. not everyone has the funds or ability to do things, that others are blessed with. i feel people are very me, me, me. they don't take into consideration, that most of these games, including this are from 3 years. so what may not appeal to us adults, may be the best thing since sliced bread to a child. also, have these people considered that there children and disabled people that don't have the ability to play in real life, actually have something to help them enjoy life to the full, in as realistic way, made possible with the wii remote. even children have trouble hitting a ball straight in real life, so it's nice to have a fixed shot that won't run off.

all the best for the future.
