Thanks for this great deal! It has been featured over on the HUKD blog PLAYPENNIES

http://www.playpennies.com/images/thanks_playpennies.png
I've been a couple of times to the Castleford one using Tesco Vouchers. It's a bit strange, like something dreamed up in Pheonix Nghts, but the kids (boys) seem to like it! On my first visit, seeing a 7 year old driving a full size JCB, I wanted to scream 'Health & Safety'! Would probably advise best for over 7s to go on most of the rides, but younger kids will enjoy seeing all the diggers. Bit 'home grown' and rough around the edges and seems to manned entirely by teenagers!

Pricing structure is expensive, but ok if using vouchers, and hardly any queues!

Tip - take a packed lunch or eat beforhand, as food is limited to dodgy burger van.
i thought likebees had gone down the drain? They have been sending out the same deal for a while now.
I've never been, would there be things to to with a 2 yr old & a 3 yr old?
sod the kids i love this place lol
the kids loved it more than alton towers and like someone said no lining up all the time

there is a soft indoor play area with a few tables and chairs to sit on and have a cup of tea or coffee at the Yorkshire one but it's nothing special - i'm not trying to put people off, it's your money :{
hi vickyo
I am not sure about yorkshire but i took my kids and nephews to the one in Kent last year. They were 2.5yo, 3 yo, 5yo and 6yo. They all went on all the rides albeit the younger two had to go on with an adult. They have to be 0.9com tall to go on the rides with an adult though so maybe check their height. In the Kent one there is a soft play area and an area with those little tike cars. If Yorkshires the same you may be ok
vickyo
Oh dear. We (my husband!) really fancied going to the Yorkshire Diggerland at Easter but these reviews def putting me off especially as my kids are very young (2 and 3 1/2) so it looks like it would be a waste of time as the only things they could really go on would be the coin op rides! oO

Been to the Kent one and it was fab. Both my 3 yo daughter, 5 yo son and two nephews absolutely loved the place. We had sooo much fun. Even us parents loved it.
There was a soft play area too.
Food in the cafe was nice and very reasonably priced. All in all a great day out and good value for money.

Is it not better value if you use your Tesco Clubcard vouchers?
Tesco Clubcard token
£5 in vouchers per entry and is flexible in time.
went on this deal last Oct half term and it was a fab day out! well, as long as you go prepared for the mud, wrap up warm and take a picnic with you ( we went to the Y'shire one).
Will ask DH if we can go again!

Diggerland!!!! Where the hell was this when I was a kid!

x2!
I thought it was poor value tbh. Good way to kill an hour, but ours soon got bored @ the one at Durham. My sister took her boy to the one near Tiverton and had the same opinion. Fortunately we went for nothing by using Groupon credits I had spare, so nothing lost. But full price was a rip off IMO.

Why do people post these 'deals' they are no better than timeshare salesman, go in for a 'cheap' photo session and then get hard sales to buy thousands of pounds of photos with great low interest finance to fund the deal!!!!!

All of these companies, Venture etc. give these 'special' rates and usually are about £20 for the offer, its what comes after people need to be aware of, if you know whats involved fine but if not give the whole offer a wide berth!

Looking at Diggerland's calendar on their website, they close for the winter AFTER the 30th.
Just checked what the Tesco clubcard deal is for Diggerland - currently 1 entry token for £5 worth of reward vouchers.

But noticed Tesco website says: "All 4 Diggerland locations will close on Sunday 30 October 2011."

That's can't be right can it? Will have to phone to check they're open.

well i must say we were pleasantly surprised this time. Took cleaning stuff with us and didnt need to unpack it. The chalet was clean, bedding and towels included and looked new. Didnt need to pay electric and the food was more than edible. Thinking of going again as the deal is running throughout October and November. As long as you dont expect too much you cant go wrong for the price
i have booked for next weekend, must admit last time it was not a great site, but if you are using it just as a base then half board for 2 people at £59 is still pretty good
Had a week booked at Pontins last month, came home after a few days & forfeited the rest of the Holl, best thing we ever did, never again, even if it were FREE!
I think wiping your **** with 2 x £20 notes would be more enjoyable........
This may not be for everyone, and i have never been to pontins but its gotta be hot for the price alone, and it must suit a lot of people cos the place hasn't closed down! Hot!

Well try it, but Ive been at that price and I wouldnt pay £8.50 again never mind full price ....(the one in yorkshire) the best ride was the dizzy one but its height resticted so my 'bored' daughters went on that but my young sons went on a few tractor rides, boys thought it was great but kids are easily pleased ...its ok I suppose, not really all its cracked up to be....sorry!
Just got 4 tickets, thanks very much. Saved me a fortune

I'll reserve my judgement until I've given it a try, which is what i very well may do for this price - thanks op :)

Horrendous place!!never heard of health and safety!
Probably one of the reasons why it's such an excellent place!
What's so 'excellent' about it? I would truly like to know. I've never been, I have only seen videos of the place. It looks tiny.

As to the 'Health & Safety issue, letting a 17 year old kid (who'd only recently passed his driving test), take control of a vehicle to transport a group of 18 people around a site seems very irresponsible. The court certainly seem to think so, they saw fit to fine the company almost £100,000. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/wear/6167098.stm
