It's a bit cheaper than that... 2100MSP = ~£17 tops so it's more like £4.80-odd. Still, I'd gladly pay £6 for this - bargain!

True but this is for today only.
And there's not enough Xbox posts on HUKD these days anyway ;)

Great game. I played this through (finally) last week, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I wrote a very short review, if anyone is interested:

I just bought 400 points from the XBox Live website the other day, when I was short by a few. 500 points for £4.25, doesn't work out much different than most of the 'deals' that are about on points.

Excellent game and well worth this price. heat added

Wanted this for a while so finally bit the bullet, cheers OP!

Brilliant game. Incredibly atmospheric. Need to complete it in one sitting without dying more than 5 times for the final achievement though!
#12
Cracking game, short but very very sweet.

I've got my points from live-codes .co.uk although the cheapxboxlivecodes .com looks a few pence cheaper.

cheapxboxlivecodes are great imo, never had a problem with them

Same here.

I thought Limbo was one of the most overrated games of last year, it's just an average platformer that's over in under three hours. An absence of colour constitutes "art" apparently.

Easily worth 600 though. You'll get your money's worth now where you wouldn't have before.
#21
Buying smaller amounts works out cheaper directly from XBox Live, unless I am being completely stupid.

e.g. 1000 points for £8.50 (MS) is much better value than 800 points for £9.99 (cheapxboxlivecodes)

Admittedly you will save a little bit of money buying 2100 points from elsewhere, but not a lot.
#22
Argos are doing 2100 for £16.99 so will pick up one from them... Thanks for the sites, i will save them for a later date.

Can't you use your credit card to pay when you sign into Xbox live? I was hoping to do this, i don't have to buy points from somewhere do I?

You can, but it tends to be more expensive that way.

Ah right i see, the offer is only today on Xbox marketplace. Where am i going to find a store which sells MS points instantly?

To be precise, it's actually £5.10. 100 MSP = 85p

You can buy 1000 points directly from the XBox dashboard or the Live website http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/ - will cost you £8.50

I'm with you on that one. It was overpriced for the length of the game, but at 600MSP it's acceptable.

As for the game itself, it's basically a simple platformer with some nice physics puzzles and a unique visual style. If you want a proper "Games as Art" candidate, try Braid. A perfect example of interweaving story with gameplay - the story (and especially ending) actually wouldn't be possible in any other medium.
#31
Gonna get this. Any word on Braid?
#32
Brilliant game. Surpassed only by Braid for best XBLA game in my opinion.

I pass argos during lunch so reserved 2100 points for £16.99 about the same as those instant online ones.

Used the points I got from Bee.com the other week for £12.79 to get this and Shadow Complex. Works out at £3.65 each! Bargain.
#36
Im going to buy Limbo & Shadow Complex when i get home :)

Agreed. Bought it based on reviews and was hugely disappointed. Mostly uninspired game with a couple of half-decent puzzles thrown in. Doesn't deserve the hype surrounding it by any stretch of the imagination.

2100 points = £15
600 points = £4.29

Even better value.

Both games are marmite games IMO. Both had excellent reviews but I didn't really like either. I would strongly recommend playing the trial games first just in case!

Have you people never heard of demos? Since every XBLA game has one, why not try before you buy? Unless the length of the game is the sticking point, you can tell whether you'll like the game in minutes.

Limbo is an excellent game (as are Braid & Shadow Complex) but it's never going to be for everyone. The very things that make it unique and involving for me might be things that put you off. So, check it out before splashing the cash. Like it, then you can unlock the full version in seconds, usually without having to end the game you're playing. Don't, then you haven't wasted a bean. Simple.
