    REVIEW lifted from Amazon UK

The only requirements I had when looking for a Docking system were that it had to be small and that the speakers be capable of producing a clear crisp sound delivery. I bought this one from Limit with the intention of having it at my caravan where shelf space is limited and where it would sit unobtrusively out of the way, anything other than these basic requirements were seen to me as being a bonus and I was soon to discover I actually got quite a good deal for my money with the Limit Travel Dock 2 even if there are a few minor niggles with it.

Aesthetically speaking this looks very appealing once taken out of the box in which it comes packaged. The black plastic cradle dock contrasts nicely with the metallic silver speakers and sitting at just 19cm in length, 12cm in width and just under 3cm in thickness when flat it takes up very little space on the shelf where I have it located. The docking section is hinged allowing it to be folded flat in-between the speakers when not in use and as the name of it suggests, this a small and portable device designed for listening to music where-ever you want, at only 310grams in weight it is certainly lightweight but is finished off nicely and appears to be sturdy enough to withstand being transported around.

It has a cradle for your iPod/iPhone to sit which features an on/off sliding button and the volume control (up and down) buttons. Supplied with the system is a mains lead which is of a decent length and a 3.5mm jack cable allowing you to connect your iPod to the speaker should it be one of the earlier non-docking models or if you want to use the speakers for something else (a PC for example). Because this is a portable system it can be either mains or battery run and takes 4 AA batteries should you want to go out and about with it. I bought it for indoors use so haven't had to buy batteries for it so cant comment on how long they would be likely to last.

For my iPhone its simply a case of selecting the iPod from its menu and just slotting the phone into the cradle. Once it is switched on, the volume set at the level I want and my songs have been selected I can leave my music to play and best of all, the docking system also acts a charger so I don't have to worry about my phone's battery running down.

    Sound Delivery

The most important thing when it comes to speakers is their sound quality and I have to say that these on the Limit are exceptional. They have a maximum output of 5 watts which is more than enough for me and the songs on my iPhone are delivered with a clarity which belies their cheap price tag. Music is delivered crisply, defined, muffle-free and has a lovely quality to it which really impresses me. Limit do state that their speakers have a digital amplifier and 'neodymium drivers for room-filling sound' and I would pretty much agree with that statement, even on their highest setting there are no distortions or crackles and even though you don't have the facility to adjust the Treble or Bass I find that I don't need to anyway as the speakers seem to adjust to whatever track they are playing. I have eclectic tastes in music and my iPhone has a mixture of musical genres on it from cheesy pop through to sweeping, uplifting classical music and even on the orchestra pieces it delivers a note-perfect sound quality which is, by far, the strongest area of this system from Limit and made it absolutely worth the money I paid for it. Definitely recommended!
