If you have purchased the U-Dock here are couple of things you need to know :-

If you plug the player into the U-Dock's USB plug, the system will detect the player as a USB stick and will play the tracks chronagraphically (the date and time it was copied). You cannot randomise or repeat tracks whilst the player is connected to U-Dock's USB plug. However though the U-Dock will produce good quality music. If the sound distorts turn down the BASS using the UDock's remote control.

If you want to use your player and want to randomise or repeat tracks then you will need to purchase a LINE IN lead. Each end of the lead has a 3.5mm plug.

Review on Play.com:

Perfect alternative to those who don't want an Ipod.

This is a great price at the moment when bought with the 4GB MP3 Player (£14.99) I bought it on a whim thinking it's only £15 and so far it's produced a greater sound than I expected. Even with the volume loud it still packs a punch. Multi-adapters give you a choice of appliances to use it with. Mains charger included and well.. this is actually quite incredible. I never expected such a good sound from something this small. It doesn't feel cheap either when you move it around. It's slightly heavier than expected, but not too heavy to move. Perfect for what I want it for. I work in a warehouse and I can hear it crisply. A perfect purchase, truly I am shocked. =D

Must have been 15 quid at one time.

Anyone know if I can forward to the next track if playing music from a USB Stick?

From what I can make out via googling (plus one of the posts above), it reads very much as though the dock itself has a built-in simple mp3-player, as it supposedly will play mp3s from memory sticks as well as mp3-players that happen to behave like a memory stick when plugged in via USB.

This might sound nifty, but as mentioned in the quote above, if it means you can only play through the files in USB mode in the order in which they appear on the USB stick (which I have seen be the case with many poorly thought-out mp3 devices), this will be practically unusable. If you have 10 albums and want to play a track on the 10th one, you have to fast-forward through about 100 tracks.

Obviously, then, you can use the aux lead to plug any device with headphones output into the speakers - but if you do, the only remote control functionality you will have is volume and power, as the dock unit will have no way to tell the player to change track.

It sounds very much like there's a reason the price was dropped from £80-or-so down to sub-£20 - most people might find it barely more useful than any other pair of amplified speakers.

I still think it's a decent price (assuming the sound is OK), but maybe a tad deceptive.

Worth doing a bit of research to see if it will suit your needs.
