Sausages from the grave!

Creepy.:w00t:

I tried her stuff before - but the amounts of fat in it were completely horrendous.

By its nature vegetarian food should be healthy - and not packed full of so much fat that its probably less heathly than the meat product.

Most vegetarians aren't veggie to be healthy - its against the methods used in the meat industry and that we don't have to kill to survive is the [most I know] peoples reasons for not eating meat. Most chocolate cakes are veggie but doesn't mean its good for ya! ;-)

I don't often post. Although not a vegetarian I have enjoyed Linda McCartney's pies and other items. The last ones I bought were dreadful! Perhaps they have changed the recipe or suppliers but were not as good as previously.

Paul McCartney tells his kids "I've got some bad news and some good news."

"The bad news is your mothers dead. But the good news is its sausages for tea tonight."
#10
It doesn't taste anything like sawdust, don't be silly.

Cheers for the thread, will send the parents in. :P

The Linda McCartney range is lovely. I generally don't condone ready meals now, but I was a veggie when I was in high school and used to get them all the time. The Lasagne was niiiiice.. :)

I have a silly question regarding all of the Tesco voucher codes included at the top of this entry (and I apologise in advance if I should ask this in another place on this site?).

As I always go to the shop to shop and never use home delivery, Im guessing that they are useless for me?

Thanks for any pointers.

thanks btw - I prefer sainsburys but didn't see them in my weekly checking out of deals
#25
agreed , sainsbury have a much better variety, especially Quorn. They now have Quorn Scotch Eggs - amazing, with free range egg inside.

I am not a Veggie (3 others in the household are though) and won't eat scotch eggs because of the junk meat. They taste like the real thing
#26
Is all packet ready made food not ****, whether is Veggie or not.

I would have thought any veggie worth their salt would screw their nose up at this sort of thing, or maybe it's marketed at the part time wannabe veggies.

Buy ingredients....make food....voila!

Bum Fodder., Quorn or not

Am I the only veggie who doesn't like these?

The amount of fat in Linda McCartney stuff is shocking. If they tasted fantastic I could possibly excuse the amount a fat in them (as I do when I eat chocolate), but they don't.

Still, voted hot, since it's a good price and that's what the sites about.
#29
I like the sausages, they taste like the cheap n nasty sausages you used to get (and may still get) in greasy spoons, they make great sausage sarnies, and no meat , or in the case of those sausages from the greasy spoon - ar*eholes, eyeballs and elbows..

Yet we're told earlier that Veggies take the option for the health purposes...

Some vegetarians will tell you they are vege for health reasons, some will tell you they are vege for ethical reasons (which is a laugh, but this isn't the place for that discussion) and yet others for environmental reasons.

Claiming all vegetarians do it for the same reason is like saying all ford drivers bought the car because "it had a nice petrol cap cover".

LM Sausage: 101cals/4.4g fat
LM Pie: 412cals/22.8g fat
LM Lasagne: 451cals/20.2g fat

They're nice to some due to massive fat content they have, I went off LM after seeing those.
