Why would any loving parent do this?

Why would any loving parent do this?

To protect their children from a hot fire, a boiling oven, or breaking things.

Although I see what you mean: the playpen idea isn't particularly easy on the eye. It looks far too prison-esque.
#9
Why would people want to put their babies in a cage?
#10
It's so that the child can't harm themselves whilst you nip off to the loo.

I personally don't use it as the hexagon, but as a room divider - so they can't get in the kitchen, and into the corner of the garden where the BBQ is and things.

Got mine second hand from NCT Nearly New sales - but this is still a very good price. I wouldn't be without mine.

this is not such a great price after all. bought one of these some 2 years ago for £39, they accidentally delivered 2. never used either of them much. kids work out catch mechanisms very quickly in my experience. no temperatures from me here

very good price imo, fetching more than this 2ndhand on fleabay, we have french doors and an open fireplace on the same wall, so we use the room divider bit on the whole, but have used the playpen to pop dd in whilst I nip to the loo, or help my wheelchair bound son to the toilet, know she's safe whilst she's in there and takes the pressure/guilt off my teenager, which imo is priceless

The elderly seem happy enough in them too! lol (_;)

Great for putting the kids in whilst nipping of to the pub!!! ;-)

HOT price. I paid £80 for mine, but it's great, still going storng after two house moves and three babies. Utterly change-around-able - cheaper than a fire guard for my room anyway.

Edited By: Penny Saver on Aug 03, 2010 16:48: Extra stuff.

These are excellent although I have the 1 with mesh sides. We call it baby jail-pmsl. Is big enough for hubbie too

Our stairs lead down straight into our living room and a stair gate would need to be L shaped to block them off, this will be ideal.
#22
These are pretty darn solid.

We bought one when my twin boys arrived on the scene. Unfortunately we messed up the calculations of the size of the thing, and it took up most of our living room area... Much like the boys themselves, actually! :)

We have the mesh one too, but paid a lot more than £58 for it.

We would highly recommend this to anyone with babies. In fact, it's one of the top 3 most useful and most used baby items we have.

These are great, we have one which we initially bought to keep our toddler from our christmas tree, but now its up as a wall divider instead.
#25
Mine arrived this morning, delivery man had to carry it into our house as it was too heavy for my wife.

Never thought to check the dimensions, hope it isn't too big for our rooms.

Better hurry if you want one - only 2 left!!!
