Hi I bought 2 of the £ 59.99 tablets and one works fine and connects to my wi fi with no problem . The other one has connected intermittently but will not connect to Playstore and comes up with connection timed out message . Both tablets show wifi connection "excellent" . I think they have all sold out now so won't be able to get a replacement . Anyone else had any problems or have any idea how to solve mine. Thanks.
Can't get mine away from the kids, just found out they have added minecraft. So thats good. performance isn't so bad if you keep the number of applications opened to a very limited few.
Properly impressed with this for the price, iplayer playstore 1080p playback, nice enough though reflective screen. Sweet.
Screen is good but to be honest ROM is poor so that is making it hard to use. On the first Play store is working second tablet loads up you pick any app or game starts to load the info screen so you can see the dtails can actually see that or a second then saying google play has stopped. Will try a second reboot but am not sure using flash on the inbuilt browser wouldnt work on bbc site does on tv catch up, video is great on the first tablet too using Plex app, so the screen seems good viewing angle wise. will see if can get amazon app store to work on second to test.

Did anyone get the upgrade tablet and what do you think of it.
I ordered 2 of the ips £10 more ones just arrived as my card failed first time after paying college fees and didn't realise. so ordered early yesterday arrived 10 mins ago.
They seem well built and heavy for the money but aleady worried me as get interference on touch screen keyboard while charging. so to type have to unplug. Bit odd.
Will get set up and feed back soon.

Cheers that would be great , I know there only £60 but its money down the drain if there no good. Want one for Jpeg and pdf if they play movies that would be a bonus.

Similar price, better spec. Just need to wait for the stock arriving .... but you can pre-order it now.

Thanks sancheez. That does look to have a better spec, but didn't want to wait as the poor girl is already suffering from ABWS (Angry Birds Withdrawal Syndrome) :)

It's certainly cheap, but I think that the HP Microserver is much better value for money.
According to the official website, it supports up to 2x 1.5TB hard disk (which is total 3TB as in the product description). http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/embedded/artigo/a2000/
Seems a good price, but I've never had much luck with servers. Tried a Dell Poweredge SC440 a couple of years ago and more recently a HP Microserver but found them overkill so currently using a d link sharecenter nas.

Does anyone know if this would easily run Windows Home Server 2011? Specs seem ok. Or would it be better with windows 7 or sever 2008? Also any ideas about noise levels?

Anyone who knows about Freenas, i no you can install/use the box to download torrents on, but i want to download files from an sftp server, is there anyway i can do that with FreeNAS, im looking all over but see a lot of mentions of Freenas as a FTP Server, but not as a client.
regards.
You could certainly use FreeNas for SFTP as a client as required it's just a Linux build which specialises in NAS services - but you can add any other services you require on top.

I thought it was based on FreeBSD

Website says there's still 1 instock if anyone's thinking they may have missed out.

Mini-itx.com reckon they'll have these back in stock in a week or two (though they are more expensive than this offer by a few quid)

...except this thread is for LinITX.co.uk who still have 2 in stock ( not sure why expired)

These are back in stock @ same price. Not heard of LinITX before, ordered yesterday afternoon, arrived first thing this morning. Seem very efficient.

Thanks to OP and others for highlighting what this does, hadn't heard of these before , but now won't have to carry upteen cd's dvd's around with me, or have loads of coaster or out of date disks, and can make upteen custom install disks quickly, and less wastefully.
Device has just arrived. It's nice and compact, though the display is a tad small - hope it auto-scrolls.
Hopefully, I'll be able to give it a test drive over the weekend.

Anyone received theirs and got any comments, tips or other observations?

Why does everyone mention ME/98? I'd be using this for Windows 7 / server 2008 / Ubuntu for an OS but mainly for diagnostic disks. Do people still own computers over 10 years old?
Not sure as i pointed out earlier why would anyone want to now install Me or win 98 now a days. Take into account time and trouble searching for drivers etc. Imagine that you charge a client for formatting his machine, then sticking on windows me on, plus time searching for drivers ect. Plus it would be very slow now a days. My advise would be scrap it and buy a new unit, how much is a windows me pc going to be worth?. Has anyone received this item and is it of use.

Who on earth wants to install win 98 and vista and millenium , Mate good luck to you if you need to install all that. as for the other stuff, just stick it on a hardrive. And if you need all the recovery disks for all laptops/computers then you would need a van to carry it all around. You may convince idiots who know jack s--t but i am not impressed

Maybe someone who wants Windows reinstalling and has a COA sticker for ME? We wouldn't want to break the law, after all...
Agree, i would consider one myself but not sure it would be of much use. Not all computers especially old ones as we are talking about when installing windows ME etc would boot from usb surely.

If anyone is tempted to flash to the iodd 2501/2511.. You can but you cannot go back to the ZM-ve200 (well I can't, not yet)well at least until i figure out how to override f/w mismatch, err iso A0 , checksum error.

It works as iodd2501/, I wanted fat32/exFat support to try on ps3. So I flashed it to a fat32 firmware

Lol: When I first read about these devices, it was translated from Korean to English and it mentioned only could have 1 partition on drive.. I wanted to see if if I could mount ISO in ps3 (highly unlikely) but I wanted to try anyway, therefore I needed fat32 support on the drive hence experimenting changing to Iodd firmware etc.

Upon further experimenting

I have since found out by creating 2 primary partitions on iodd/zalman [1 fat32] 1 NTFS that it is the iodd/zalman that what the Korean text meant was that the iodd/zalman can only see 1 partition. The i-odd firmware does have an option after cd-mode/dual-mode/hdd-mode to hide first partition though.

So just partition the drive into 2, 1 fat32 or exFAT(if needed for something else) primary and 1 ntfs primary if you would like some of the drive to be visible in ps3/360...ps3 use triangle show all files.

....A few things more after experimenting ... when end of list is displayed on LCD, press and hold the centre of jog wheel in to display the devices firmware (as in manual etc) but after pressing to version number press up then down then press centre for ram and chipset info.

32 files limit for the _iso folder, You can create subfolder in the _iso folder though.

You can use it as a virtual floppy as well with *.ima images

to reset the mode back unplug ..hold centre of wheel in and plug back in (as it remembers last mounted /mode etc)

^because usb flash pens are limited in size /*gb and more than likely speed is an issue *especially write * when you got to store your iso initially and because the zalman I have setup boots/installs/runs all operating systems, boot cds, live cds, recovery solutions, mounts blu rays, dvds. And still 300 gig free at minute from a 500gb

Yeah you can do quite a lot from a usb flash pen but mlc can be a bit slow.

Tbf usb will suit more especially price wise but when you go past 32 gig price per gb is not feasible nor is the speed.

Bought the black one this time
Back in stock and looks like a cheaper price.
I've not had a lockup, but I did notice that you can spin the drive down by holding the button in, then I couldn't figure out how to wake it up again. It was showing a sleep icon (can't remember what it looked like) on the LCD.

Wish I'd waited now - but its still a great device,
They're on sale now: £38.39
So this a year or two back and liked the idea then.

Think I'll buy one now, as I'm currently using too many pendrives and dvds for this.
This will replace them all with one device.

linitx will sell you this enclosure with a 320gb drive in for £83

Mine arrived next day delivery, and includes a neat/strong travel case, and tool to open it if you choose to go with your own hard disk. Easy setup. Already proving very handy. Heat given.
I love the idea. But a little too much for me to justify it.

voted cold software is crap does not work properly ihad one for christmas last year,

My nephew's one worked fine. Are you running XP or Vista? It only claims to work on XP.
These used to go for £20 and now £10 at Firebox:
http://www.firebox.com/product/1540/USB-Cannon

It's fine if you are running XP and reasonably good fun.
Total price including P&P is £6.37, so the title is misleading.
So I guess it gets a mediocre vote overall from me.

fantastic deal, really bad keyboard, zboard customer service out of the same league as microsoft and sky and if you are constantly changing between keysets they wear really easily.

Amazon sell different editions of the gaming keyboard so you can replace them if they wear out. This is the Doom 3 version for example - it's £15

This is the Guild wars versin at £13
