Anyone know if this works with the 360?

Please look into the issues with this if using vista before parting with you cash. Works great with xp though.

Pretty sure its because its in the sale and not just because it is ****. If it goes back up in price tomorrow then it was a one day deal.

I checked out the issues and did'nt bother looking at linksys for Vista 64 - too many problems reported (I brought a netgear DGN2000 & USB adapter - they work well).

Great price but if you have Vista be prepared to send it back.

Ideal for neighbour - She uses my wireless connection but is currently using an old Wireless Ethernet Adapter. It can only handle WEP encryption which I'd prefer to up it to WPA2.

This should do the trick - No need for extra power and she only has WindowsXP.
#15
I have one of these - works fine under Vista 32!!

I doubt anyone would be prepared to pay £80 for it though!!!

damn got windows vista

Hi Guys
You will receive the increased wireless range benefit if you only have N-type wireless router/access point.
I will work with G-type but no distance different.

So be aware ;)

So am I right in thinking that I could plug this into the back of an Xbox 360 and connect perfectly fine to my current wireless network instead of buying the over priced Microsot 360 adapter ?

As it says USB this needs no power cable ?
#19
voted hot - great price.
works in ubuntu as well
#20
Fantastic find. While vista 32bit doesnt work at wireless N, xp does.

Ordered two..

No, you need either the microsoft one or a network bridge that connects via ethernet.

Hmm, not sure about that. The Microsoft 360 adapter is USB just like this linksys one. How are they any different ?

Anyone know if this works with the 360?

Last time I checked it was only the ms one that worked - I doubt they have changed this. sorry mate!
#27
Hot for me as well.
#28
Any deals on a cheap wireless N router to go with this ?
#29

Because microsoft only put thier wireless drivers on the Xbox 360...

The MS one is only about £30 now!

Because the Xbox360 has all its drivers etc.. installed on the console, which will only work with it's own wireless adapter.

Third party Wireless USB devices etc, will require additional drivers, which can't be installed.

Just because it uses a USB connection it doesn't mean it will work with the 360.
Trust me, I got a wireless adaptor for the 360 last week after it was listed on here (£31 amazon).
I'd previously had it connected via a network bridge as described by the previous poster and it worked more or less fine, but I am 100% sure that you can't just plug in any old USB network adaptor and it will play nicely with the 360, it has specific peripherals designed for it. How would it work out of the box anyway? How do you install the drivers? It's simply not possible.
Think about it, they've gotta make money out of overpriced propriety peripherals, in the same way you can't just plug in any old USB game pad and use it with your xbox.
#33
Would this work with a printer to network it?
#34
the wireless is broken on my laptop
will this look safe and decent coming out of the laptop? It does look big...
#35
Ah, of course. Didn't think about installing drivers at all, just thought plug in and that's it. Makes sense now.
#36
my router is on the ground floor and my computer on the 2nd floor... i get a really intermittent signal with a 3com usb adapter, will this fare any better?
#37
Normally like Linksys products however this is very unreliable with Vista.

Voted hot regardless.
#38
£50 now. That's some price hike!
#39
Mine is in packing...

Fingers crossed!

Hopefully not a play mispirce!!
