Been watching for an AC1900 xDSL modem router to replace the crappy HG633 supplied by TalkTalk for my fibre vDSL connection. It was going to be this, the VR900, the Nighthawk or the AC68U. This one has finally fallen into the "less than a ton" bracket I was waiting on.

Blurb from Linksys:
- Provides Wi-Fi speeds up to 1900 Mbps (4.3x faster than wireless-N) optimising multimedia streaming.
- Three adjustable antennas help extend Wi-Fi range.
ADSL2/ADSL2+ modem for streamlined setup.
- Beamforming for fast, strong connections and reduced power consumption.
- Four gigabit Ethernet and two USB ports for connecting and sharing devices.

Seems like there are conflicting messages around the web - some say ADSL2+ only, some say VDSL.
Linksys, in a community thread, state VDSL - https://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/XAC1900-is-this-vdsl2-ready/td-p/983718

Not the best reviews around and not the fastest but it was tested at £199 so at this price it is a steal.

Normally your priority should be to ditch TalkTalk and then decide upon a new router but this looks such a good deal that you could do both at once

As far as I can tell this is does not have inbuilt support for VDSL so you might be wasting your time unless you planned to run your original device in modem-only mode?

As I stated above, conflicting comments abound.

Call me a cynic but I wouldn't trust that. If it's not listed as a headline feature then chances are it's not supported.

Review here stating VDSL is not supported:
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/modem-routers/linksys-xac1900-review-3624719/

Also, the modem comes as a separate unit (called the APM 105) which is, I think, integrated into the PSU so it's not exactly a slick design. See here:

As far as I am aware Linksys only offer one router with a vdsl modem built in and that is the X6200. The link to Linksys community says "It only works with VDSL connection" which could mean anything and most likely means in bridge mode with a separate VDSL modem.
