But not everyone is a member of AVforums, therefor the delivery should be included in the price.

Cant you get the discount just by signing up to AV and posting 10 times?
#8
Not necessarily. I live in NI where it doesn't apply.......

20 posts, but that's a lot to ask of people these days. Even if it means getting free delivery on the cheapest computer retailer on the net...

But as stated above, doesnt apply to northern ireland, so delivery price should still be included.
You dont see people taking quidco savings off final costs in their deals, just because people can get it, theres some that dont.

Northern Ireland doesn't always get free postage though.

Maybe the full price should be in brackets in the title, im sure 90% of people who want this will go sign up for AV forums and post 20 times to get £8 odd off.

I have been a member of Avforums for years and don't usually post much more than 10 times in a month like most other members when using the forum as intended so some people will most likely be spamming the forum with mindless drivel to get 20 posts in a very short time and are likely to get reported and banned from the forum for it.

Just a word of caution because it is worth making the effort to join the Avforums and to make the 20 post so you will have free delivery at Scan but just do it sensibly or a member or moderator will likely report you for spamming and you will be banned and lose your free delivery.

Typical someone posts an amazing price for a Blu-Ray reader and all people can do is bitch about delivery FGS get some perspective

When the delivery is nearly one third the cost of the item, it's understandable! Their postage costs are horrific!

Don't know where people get 10 or 20 posts from, I just signed up, no posting and free delivery straight away, about 2 months ago. Bit of a PITA but nothing compared to having to do this 20 times.
#15
that 10/20 post rule on avforums got removed on scan's behest.
now you can just sign up and link your scan account to you av account to get the free postage, no posts needed

I'm not sure where 20 posts came from - I signed up a few years ago and made 1 post in the welcome thread and i've had free delivery ever sinse.

In fairness - rather than moan about not getting free delievery, you could have used your post on here on AV Forums and got yourself free delivery.

As for Ireland - just be happy with the 7bn we have offered to give you :p

Seriously, I do not want to see threads that detail the postage for all regions of the globe, just in case one minority or another gets upset (we have enough of that sort of thing done by our politicians) - the deal is a great deal, and if you have slightly higher postage cost than the majority of others then i'm sure that you can take that into account when choosing to buy or not.

I agree, it's standard practice now on here to have Scan items without postage costs included. It's been done for a while now and I prefer it to stay that way. Who has expired this?! The deal is still active for at least 2 more hours.

If area of residence has to be accounted for, then ALL branch/area specific deals would have to be removed from this site. If Greggs started selling their pies for 10 pence it would be a hot deal but I cant remember ever seeing a greggs in NI! (I live there, or here in my case)
#19
who has expired this when the deal is on another today only deal so its on for about another 24 hours?
#20
is there anyway this can be un-expired?
#21
Anyone know if its a good drive thinking of getting it for my Media Center (is 4x a decent speed for Blu-ray?)

But only if it's made clear in the title that you have to belong to a forum to get free delivery.

Not necessarily. I live in NI where it doesn't apply.......

It’s not practical to show postage costs for people that live in NI, Scottish Highlands etc; just show the postage cost for ‘regular’ UK addresses and leave it at that.

As for Scan as it’s possible to collect from store I think it’s fine to not include the postage BUT if it was my deal I would quote the price in the title as being ‘From £36.41’ and explain the situation in the description.
I think it is the norm to not include postage for Scan deals.
#24
It is a good price but be aware everyone it is only £1.17 cheaper then their standard price so unless you want one now there is not really much of a saving.
still voted hot good price.

total rubbish, companies shd wise up and get a couier that offers free delivery to all uk, for example play.com or amazon. to sign up for a forum to get to free delivery is daft. england isnt just classed as uk. amazon is just as cheap when u take delivery costs into consideration to non mainland england.

That's not the issue we were talking about!

this might be a stupid question but would this work as a regular dvd drive as well? I am getting a bare bones system that comes without a disc drive so just wondering if it makes more sense to get this or should I just stick to a regular dvd drive?
