Free delivery from the eBuyer website. It came up as an option when I logged in.
#18
Yeah, realised that, but strange that it offers it to some and not others.
#19
Yep, I got it with free next day delivery as well.

Might it be because of the referral offer? They might have referred friends who placed orders successfully and therefore have been given this free next day delivery prize. It's at the bottom of the page right after you log in...
#21
Ah, never seen that, wil bear that in mind. Thanks for clarifying that gabriel :)

Does it work with Windows 7? One of the reviews said he had trouble getting drivers....
#25
Good price, got this to use with my revo, a word of warning though the USB power cable is VERY short, so short it requires me lying the revo on it's side.

Not really a big issue but worth noting

No free delivery for me.

This is the model I'd been thinking of buying, but I got it in white for 80p more, so it doesn't show fingerprints/dust easily.

Heat!

Does it work with Windows 7? One of the reviews said he had trouble getting drivers....

Got this last year and worked fine with my laptop, Windows 7 Home Premium, just plug-and-play. Would imagine drivers would be more of an issue for older systems, Windows 98 and the like...at a guess, not technically-minded but often sems to be the case with these types of things. Neat little drive, great price, nearly half what I paid last year! oO
#35
Thanks. Ordered one to use with Acer Revo 3610.

wow , great!

I should have been more specific: Windows 7 Starter which is what my Acer netbook comes with. Reviews said it won't play DVDs but will play CDs. Apparantly missing CODECs - I think that's why some people have reported not being able to play DVDs on Windows 7 Starter.

Anyway, a guy's review on Amazon posts a solution (apologies for CAPS but that's how he wrote it):

---------------------
EXCELLENT DVD PLAYER/REWRITER BUT NOT IMMEDIATELY SUITABLE FOR USE WITH MANY NETBOOKS DUE TO THE FACT MANY NETBOOKS ARE SHIPPED WITH EL CHEAPO WINDOWS 7 STARTER EDITION AND THE NECESSARY CODECS ARE NOT LOADED IN STARTER EDITION SO WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER DOES NOT HANDLE THIS UNIT FOR DVD
CONTENT. IT WILL HANDLE AUDIO CDs OK BUT NOT VIDEO. EASILY REMEDIED BY GOING TO WWW.CODECSGUIDE.COM AND GET THE FREE K-LITE CODEC PACK. THIS WORKS AND LETS YOU USE THE LITEON WITH WINDOWS 7 STARTER OS.
---------------------

Also, another Amazon review said that the trial Nero software it come with is expired. they recommend using InfraRecorder: "the free software InfraRecorder does most of what I need (burning DVDs).

Hope that helps somebody!

@ polys

That was a close one!! I've cancelled m original order now and ordered the black.

Cheers mate.

Also, to anyone looking for CD/DVD burning software on Windows, I can't recommend Burnaware highly enough.

It's great because it's so user friendly for my non-techy friends, but still offers a broad range of features on the free version.
