does this one record 16:9 flags correctly? the last liteon recorder i had didn't...

I'm pretty sure that is misleading. My 5045GDL+ does not record in divx. It only plays them.

Unless there has been an update that I don't know about, that is a false claim.

As for 16:9 tags, I believe it does it properly if recording through scart, but not if you are recording from the analogue tuner. But don't take this as gospel!

Other things to note: Liteons drives have a two-year guarantee in the UK.

Liteon have also pulled out of the DVD recorder market, so don't expect any more (official) firmware updates for this.

Those two statements conflict as you can get 2 hours of HQ Divx in 1GB so 160GB should be 320 hours.
