Note I have used the USA box art because there is no box art on GAME's site, and the only box art from the UK looks lame-assed, and i'm not sure if its final.

here is the UK box:

I hope so as well. My PS3 is getting closer to being sold after the Haze fiasco.

I'd hold off, you usually get better preorder deals a couple of weeks before it comes out. But then again, I suppose you can always cancel it if a better offer comes along.
#9
This got a good preview from the GameCentral (channel 4 teletext). Was said that this game is one to look forward to. I may consider buying a PS3 just for this. Repped Hot.

im one of those lazy people that will not bother building my own levels but will play everyone elses.
#11
apparently levels can be censored ?

er why ? i'm over 18, if somebody wants to be infantile and put up a pair of titties i'm really not bothered.

Just cos kids play it dont mean I have to be censored.

Its like them censoring the nude anime cars in forza 2.

Ignorant. Game of the Year contender.

And a Game of the Year contender or other high profile game can't be released on PSN? Quick, tell Sony to pull Gran Turismo 5 Prologue from PSN - they're obviously ignorant.

Speaking of ignorant, you'd probably have to be to have missed the fact that this was originally planned to be released on PSN initially, then later as a disc release containing the game and a selection of the best of the user-created content from the PSN release. That plan - clearly what was being referred to - seems to have fallen by the wayside now, of course.

Why do videogames consoles provoke such an emotive overreaction in some. Especially PS3 fanboys? Are they so protective of their console that they need to attack everyone who has made a valid point about the lack of quality titles on the PS3?
#19
Try as I might, I can't seem to get as excited as the journos on this one. The demonstrations i've seen obviously aren't conveying the brilliance across.

Check out some of the latest vids from E3 they're fantastic! Apparently Team ICO have designed a level for this game which in itself is reason to buy it :) The possibilities with this are endless, anybody can design a level.. bound to see celebs trying their hand at it, music artists, designers etc etc. Im hoping they let Nintendo design a level!

As for being the only exclusive worth getting a PS3 for, get a life!
#21
Knowing Sony i doubt this will be released until xmas 2009, if we are lucky along with Home. Its already looking alot less impressive and my initial excitement has dropped quiet abit since it was first annouced for release last autumn.

One man's valid point is another man's mindless troll. It's kind of sad that the console fanboys get everywhere, but most of them view themselves as a voice of reason rather than a trolling halfwit. Trust me on this, I know what I'm speaking about from bitter experience moderating a major gaming message board. :D

It's usually better to buy the Bluray rather than PSN store download, as usually the Bluray is the same price (or cheaper), plus you then have the option of selling it later when you get bored of it.

owning blu-ray is generally better but there are advantages to owning the psn version. i used to own warhawk on blu-ray but now have it on psn. i find the psn version much more convenient then having to swap the disk every time i play the game. of course i won't be able to sell the game but at least it loads a bit faster, more convenient and produces less strain on the blu-ray drive.

i think you will find ps3fanboy = ms fanboy. the two just happen to own different consoles. the two groups are identical in every way apart from the consoles they own. just look at some of the posts about ps3 and blu-ray and you will always see loads of ms fanboy and vice versa.

My view exactly. Of course if you really like it and the loading times is an issue you could always sell the disc version and buy the download.

If you're having a religious war about vi vs emacs, you're definitely a nerd.

Good deal, I'm sure I'll appreciate it nearer the time when this will be hard to get for less than £40 from a reputable store.

GAME are also very quick with their delivery.

Could easily be GOTY, thanks for the heads up.
#31
Looks like a fun sandbox title - but you will need some creativity to get the true benefit of the gameplay. I wouldnt really say this was a contender for GOTY, are we forgetting the gaming nirvana that was GTAIV only months ago? But at least i'll finally have a reason of owning a PS3 (it's been getting a little dusty :) )

I'm glad you've said that as I was beginning to think it was only me... I've got a voucher lying around somewhere for this as a bribe on a miss-price from GAME or amazon, i'll stick it on the freebies board or give it away on fs/ft if I can find it.

It gives teenage boys something to do! It could be worse, at least it keeps them from smashing bus shelters...

I think it's to do with the mindset of those who are infatuated with consoles and gaming - I've not noticed a difference between the users of either console to be honest. They mostly all act like a spoiled child when someone disagrees with their opinions.

It's also something to do with fishing posts like yours! The irony!

Most people act like spoiled children when someone disagrees with their opinions, particularly online. Consoles don't come into it.

The main reason in my experience is that a lot of people end up buying one console for financial reasons and then feel the need to defend it at all costs and belittle the competition in order to justify their decision to themselves. It's amazing how quickly they can develop a freakish emotional attachment to a giant corporation that has no interest in them other than as a source of money.

Sorry, I don't agree with that.

I've read a lot of posts on here, and yes, quite a lot of people take the huff if someone doesn't agree with their opinions as you've said.

However, if you subject yourself to any thread pertaining to gaming/consoles, you are absolutely guaranteed to witness some serious 'toys out the pram' style behaviour from several contributors on that one thread alone.

It's probably got quite a bit to do with the age groups, and I include the mental age groups in that.

Fair enough. I'm open to reconsidering my view.

However, there are plenty of topics where the perceived age groups of console gamers don't come into it, and you're equally guaranteed to witness toys fired out of prams at even higher velocities. Politics and religion spring to mind as the two most obvious culprits, along with most sports.

How about "Most people act like spoiled children when someone disagrees with their opinions, particularly online, and even more so when their opinions are based on a choice between several polarising groups"?

Too soon to pre-order the game I think.

I wouldn't say you need some creativity to get the benefit of the gameplay. The game comes shipped with around 60 levels, it has boss battles and there is also supposed to be a story contained within it too. Everyone can be creative on some level and there aren't very many titles like it coming out this generation.

Out of all the games coming out this year it stands out as one of the few that's actually innovating and taking advantage of this generation of hardware. It's definitely going to be up there for GOTY. GTAIV was overrated and I think many people will tell you that.

Also the comment about pre ordering too soon. What's wrong with pre-ordering too soon? I order it now and I am getting it at a good price. It's not like I have to pay the money right now.

isnt this a download though on the PSN hardly worth £35
