Meet the characters that inhabit Little Britain, in the first series of the comedy sketch show. Characters such as Dafydd, the only gay man in his village, Fatfighters group leader Majorie Dawes, teenage girl Vicky Pollard, and rubbish transvestite Emily Howard. Along with these characters there is the carer Lou and his wheelchair bound pal, Andy, aging actor Sir Bernard Chumley, disgraced kids star Des Kaye and many more. Originally created for Radio Four, this television series is primarily written by it's two stars, Matt Lucas and David Walliams. With a surreal narration provided by former Doctor Who, Tom Baker and regular guest appearances by Buffy star Anthony Stewart Head as the Prime Minister, the show presents a wide range of comedy characters in sketches shot both on location and in the studio.

Meet the characters that inhabit 'Little Britain' once again in the second series of the comedy sketch show. Characters such as: Dafydd, the only gay man in his village (and wants to keep it like that); Fatfighters group leader Majorie Dawes; teenage girl Vicky Pollard, and rubbish transvestite Emily Howard. Along with these characters there is the carer Lou and his wheelchair bound pal, Andy, and the multi-talented actor, singer and composer Dennis `Minder' Waterman. Again this is primarily written by it's two stars, Matt Lucas and David Walliams. Former Doctor Who, Tom Baker continues to provide the surreal narration and with regular guest appearances by Buffy star Anthony Stewart Head as the Prime Minister, the show presents a wide range of comedy characters in sketches shot both on location and in the studio.

All the episodes from the third series of the BAFTA award-winning BBC show. Matt Lucas and David Walliams have continued to create a plethora of grotesque characters who inhabit bits of grotty Britain. This of course is complemented by the former Dr. Who, Tom Baker's surreal nonsense narration.

I think all HMV deals in the sale should be reverted to the other post

Nah! I think people do like you to be specific with certain deals. Saves them from trawling through it all.
#3
Why was this expired? It's great when someone trawls throuigh a general discount offer and picks out gems like this.

Unsuprisingly, I vote for "all deals in one thread". :)

We're all entitled to our opinions, but I believe by being specific in our deals it provides more of a service and can save others a lot of the donkey work!

I am sort of 50/50 on this.
I like the detail but when a sale is as big as the HMV/Play.com ones, I'd like to see a thread with all the decent deals listed.
Neither this nor the main HMV thread do this.

I agree it would be beneficial to have all the decent deals in one thread, but that can be very time consuming to do. The way HotUKDeals is set up seems to be more inclined toward individual deals rather than numerous deals in one thread.
#13
It's a fair point but this is a good deal though.

The show is hilarious! Well, worth the money for the 3 boxsets!

Good deals can be posted separately...

Unfortunately the concept of "good deal" is subjective, which is why we also get rubbish deals a lot of the time. Takes far less time to read through one thread than click on 50 others, IMO. :)

What you've got to do is think of other people there likes and dislikes a good deal to you might be rubbish deal to someone else and vice versa. If you want people to go through all the time consuming donkey work just to provide you a list of all the deals in one thread it's not going to happen. We need to be specific to the needs of everybody!

Yes, that's what 'subjective' means, as I said. ;-) I can't see how making a post in an existing thread is "donkey work" as opposed to having to take the much longer route of submitting a separate deal though? And obviously I'm not talking about listing EVERY sale item (for instance) in one thread, you're just twisting my words now.

You will find by far the majority of deals posted on HotUKdeals are individual specific deals and all a person has to do is just use the scroll bar until he sees a heading that interests him which I would say is a much easier route to getting what you want.
#22
The majority of deals might be item-specific, but three out of five of the deals voted as hottest in the past week (on the sidebar on the main page) are general threads about sales - Ikea, Play.com and WHSmith. So that doesn't suggest to me that people don't like them. :)

That's true! It is good to tell others that there is a sale here and a sale there or that there is a certain percentage off goods. That is very helpful. Yet, people do also like specific deals where some have taken the time to bring certain items to our attention. Then, through use of the scroll bar we can all decide whether or not it's a good deal for us.
#24
Yeah, I'm not dismissing every item-specific deal, I think my gripes come when, like the other day when the Play.com sale was announced, we seemed to have about 50 separate deals posted, and I think that's just a bit OTT.

If there's something on sale which is 50%+ cheaper than anywhere else, then great - but some of the things posted were, for example, DVDs only a couple of quid cheaper than almost everywhere else or items not available anywhere other than Play.com so there was no comparison of their value. That, to me personally, isn't really a 'hot' deal, it's just tepid. :-D

There's a balance to be found, no doubt. :)
#25
Yes a good balance needs to be found, in a general thread, I don't want to see deals that are only 10p cheaper

I can understand your point of view! That's why it's good that we have the ability to vote on all the deals we see or just ignore them altogether. Yet, if it wasn't for a specific deal I wouldn't have ended up with a fantastic Sony Ericsson mobile phone! So, we just have to take the good with the bad, but we do have that power of voting.:)
#27
Thanks! Gone for this, £8.07 with student discount :)

For what it's worth, I don't mind individual deals on big sales......I don't always get to trawl through all those big on-line sales or read all the comments within the threads.....I find it helps just scrolling through the Hot & New deals until something catches my eye. Besides......to see something new on the posts is quite exciting! ;-) You never know what you'll save until you open up Hot Deals on a morning!

Good deals can be posted separately...

How long has HUKD being going and how come the search for the 'ultimate truth' regarding whether deals can be posted separately or not is still be debated. How perfunctory! :whistling: lol

Good/great/cracking deal
#31
i cant stand this show
#32
it's a great deal and have voted hot...

Personally prefer item specific deals rather than trawling through pages and pages on one thread.

:)
#33
it is great prices - paid so much more lol, learned my lesson though so wont be buying the little britain abroad dvd till its also £2.99

but with student discount and quidco (which is 10%, not 9% as quidco state, ive always gotten 10%) would work out at £7.20 - just £2.40 per series!
#34
Voted hot

My friend got series 1 for me a few year back.
She paid £13.99 for it.

I've ordered series 2 & 3 & just hope it arrives before xmas given the x-box sets delay ;)
