Both my son and daughter both wanted these , managed to get them today at smyths toy store for £24.99. (works out cheaper than paying postage if you only need one!)

Got to say they are cute little cameras and the pics come out pretty well.

Woolworths also have them as part of their 3 4 2 toy offers but they are £29.99. 3-4-2 runs out tomorrow.

Also smyths have the v-tech camera for £39.99 ! alot cheaper than asda who are selling them at £59.95

This got poor reviews even for a kids cam.

The one guy that did like it posted pics of a near & far image in a zoo ....and they are very poor :

I just gave my 6 year old son my old Kodak 3.1megapixel that i got as a bargain a couple of years ago and he loves it .......and it still takes superb pics !!

I know the camera posted is supposed to be durable and ok if dropped but it's for 3 years or over ....and both my kids (aged 4 & 6) have DS Lites and they don't throw those about !!

If my children were older, then yes i would buy them a half decent older style digital camera.

They think its fab, they like the pics.... im happy.x

Got my daughter a crayloa digital camera in Asda yesterday for £20.

Very similar to this but perhaps a little more 'grown up' plus came with some great software for editing, games & jigsaws

Fantastic camera. Well worth 1p. Seriously come on why bother? Don't your kids deserve better than this rubbish ?

I gave my old Fuji 2800 zoom to my daughter and she has been using it on and off since she was about four. It is 2mp and has a real good zoom (can't remember off hand but it is 6x ) and electronic viewfinder - lol she looks like a real pro when using it also it is really simple to use. It also takes pics that when printed you would think came from a much better quality camera!
Also this thing is pretty tough and has bounced a few times!

About £20 s/h on ebay too! (no I am not currently selling just suggesting what I personally think is an excellent alternative!)

The noise on this will be horrific ...also the aperture will not allow creative control of depth of field. The SD card write times will be measured in calendar days & frankly ...it's not very sleek.

I recommend anyone starting out in photography get a more established brand name.

Here's a better package for those starting out...

LOL that made me giggle!:-D
Shame its out of stock!

Thanks Mecococoa for that input.

Def not interested in that sort of quality.

Voted cold

This camera is really bad...........you can spend £25 quid on a 'by adult standard' camera and it is 1,000 better than this.

A photo is for life, not just for the day you have taken it. If you kid takes a picture on this and likes it, in a few years time they will hate you for giving them this peice of carp!

I voted this hot because for those who want to get their young kids a camera, its a bargain. Especially compared to the Vtech and Fisher Price ones. If you look on the fisher price and Vtech website, there are some photos on there that customers have sent in and to be honest, none of them look any different to the example posted earlier.

I don't whether to buy this one or not. Its a great price, my daughter keeps nagging for one when she see's the adverts on tv but she is 5 not 3.
She has a Nintendo DS and has looked after that, so maybe she just needs a cheap normal digital camera.

Arghhhhhh!

Thanks to the people who repped me for this

Even this one for a fiver more is worth considering :

Although if it were me i'd still maybe get a branded camera. OR like a lot of folk do buy yourself a new camera and give them you old one.

I have wasted money on similar garbage in the past. Not worth 20p never mind £20.
#29
Well, for a 23 year old, its pretty good. You need that ruggedness from a camera for this age group I think.
#30
Thanks for the link Mecoconuts :)

Just thought I would point out

ITS A TOY!

1000 images stored on 64mb memory - nuff said. Picture quality will be awful, as has been said lots of times!

I'd say it was a little childish for a 23 year old?? No?;-)
