John Nada (Piper) is a struggling labourer who drifts into town and luckily scores a job at a construction site. Discovering a box of sunglasses, Nada swipes a pair and is shocked to find what he can see through them; billboards demand citizens 'Eat' or 'Sleep', TV shows spout orders at him and some people look rather less than human.

I wondered if that is the Family Guy reference, Peter fighting the chicken guy.

I loved this film i remember they used a lot of lines from this movie in the old Playstation Game Duke Nukem which was supposed to be made into a movie starring Piper himself as sort of a futuristic sequel to "They Live" i still wish it would happen great find heat added.

Apparently, that was done purely to pad out the running time of the film otherwise it was going to be really short.

Don't know if this is true.

i read that the blu-ray release was withdrawn in the UK by Optimum after criticism about the poor quality of the transfer, as such its pretty hard to find it on blu-ray at present.
