Bought this a while ago at a cheaper price due to some deal bucks I had. It's good value for money but constant nuisance calls from the company means I won't use them again. The dinner set has a very retro feel but still going strong after a years use with by the children.

Quite a lot of complaints about this company over the years. Right back to a consumer investigation as long ago as 2003. Seems a bit messy.

In case anyone is still checking this thread, I went yesterday evening with this voucher. Service was great, wine was really nice, food was OK . The beef bourginion was served as 3 mini steaks rather than smaller cubes and was pretty tasteless, but great venue.
I had some terrible food there a few years ago but it appears the menu concept has changed a lot since, can't speak for now.
I tried it a couple of years ago (buffet lunch - livingsocial deal as well). The food was terrible. Just awful.
I've eaten there on a buy a gift experience, Great food & service,
Had the afternoon tea there and it was great- staff very attentive and definitely would recommend

I second, third and forth the above comments. I almost used mine once....
Please don't buy, it is honestly absolute crud, mine broke first time using & I just threw in the bin as it wasn't fit for anything! Photos make it look so much better than it is too.
yeah bought one very similar fell to pieces on 2nd use.
These are rubbish. Cheap tat. You also have to uncoil the full length of the hose to use it. Sorry. Also cheaper elsewhere. Sorry again.

You get what you pay for here - the normal rule is buy cheap, buy twice. In this case, buy cheap, risk leaving your loved ones in the lurch when you've gone.

Do it properly and get it done by a solicitor, who knows what they're doing and will have bomb proof insurance to back them up
I bought this deal but after doing some research on Carter Westwood I contacted Living Social to get a refund. Online reviews suggest that this will service is only a way for them to get an introduction into your house after which you will be subjected to a hard sell for other costly services to plan your estate. They may be totally fine but I think I prefer to contact a local solicitor that will be more focussed on carrying out my wishes that someone aiming to sell me their financial services.
h0tdeal
Notice all the solicitors **** themselves ?
What's the matter ?
Don't like the paupers knowing they can do it themselves ?
Obviously you are hinting at the stereotype of a greedy lawyer charging hundreds for something that can be done for £14, but actually it's better for the lawyer if you go down this route. Some of these Wills will be fine but a lot (most?) of them will have a problem which will cost a hell of a lot more than the price of a Will to sort out so from a financial perspective it is better for the lawyer.

Actually the truth is that your lawyer wants you to get it right because they have seen what happens when it goes wrong and that is why the advice is always to get a proper will. Most things that people involve a lawyer in can be done on your own - suing someone, buying shares, divorcing, even buying a house (though a lender will usually want you represented). The difference is that a lawyer will have a degree, qualification, and years of experience so will get it right.

Despite what your prejudices might lead you to believe, people doing things like this on their own without advice is what makes lawyers rich so go ahead and do it on your own and convince yourself that your putting two fingers up at the greedy lawyers. Those same greedy lawyers will happily take the fees from your loved ones to sort out the mess you leave when your gone.
I have managed to submit my details on their website now. Just to let you know it takes 4 -6 weeks for the to call you after you submit your details.

this thread is very apt for me at the moment as we are helping my father with his will :0(....very sensitive subject.....really appreciate all the sound, thoughtful and intelligent comments :0).....finding it difficult where to start.....
There's a very simple answer to that. Go to a solicitor (and I have no axe to grind at all). But before you decide which one to use, talk to around three firms, see what you think of them - and get quotations from them.

Our son and daughter in law gave us a voucher for my husbands 80th birthday which we really appreciated and looked forward to our two night break.Going into the dining room on the second night we were ushered into part of the dining area away from other guests! The restaurant manager came up to us and made a comment "have you been put in the naughty corner" ! (Not very good) After dinner we went to pay for the wine we had had we were told and the food.We did not know that it was only one evening meal on the voucher. The second evening meal we paid for.The next morning we left without having breakfast. Two weeks later a phone call saying we had meals to pay for.MAKE SURE OF THE VOUCHER!!

Though isn't actually in York - it's 11 miles North in Huby, up the A19.
Undoubtedly easier parking up there though I guess :)
Most of these deals seem to involve misleading locations. I've seen similar deals for "Lake District breaks" for hotels in Workington and "Cotswolds breaks" in Swindon!
There are plenty of good hotels in York so why would you want to stay in one that's 11 miles from where you want to be?
And is it only me that read the hotel name as Bum Hall? ;)

Can you please confirm some of the good hotels in York? Thanks

Anyone who has ordered from these guys before know how long roughly the expiry dates are on this? I have a very small freezer so having to freeze lots of this wouldn't be practical so long dates would be a plus

Sorry, I can't remember, I froze everything straight away.
Their chicken breasts are amazing!

Firstly, they're HUGE! 2x supermarket sized ones, so the first thing I do is remove the mini fillet & use that another day!

Secondly, they're utterly delicious. Really really tasty.

I read the bumph they sent me & their chickens are much older than supermarket chickens, and it shows in the quality of the meat. I also seem to remember that they're happy chickens, not battery, which I approve of!!

Their steaks are disappointing.

Most of their meats have been better than expected.

I still prefer Donald Russell but muscle food (they also trade as Westin Gourmet) are still very good.

Shame I have absolutely no freezer space!
These are spot on, I've bought over £500 worth of meat from MuscleFood, and we are trying to use the food up in the drawer to make room, the chicken is packet in a gas that smells a little like eggs, they will email you to explain it all, and it's all safe, just wash them before you use them :)
Prices from their site or hidden offers links
• 12 x Chicken Breasts £12
• 2 x Irish Sirloin Steaks £6.99
• 4 x Pork Medallion Steaks £4
• 1 x 400g Lean Steak Mince £3.50 (equivalent to two servings)
• 20 x Lean Beef Meatballs £4
• 6 x Very Low Fat Pork Sausages £3.70
• PLUS:
• 1x Grillstock Seasoning
• 2x £5 Muscle Food Vouchers - useless as can't be used in conjunction with any of their other offers which always have greater value than £5.

Not that much of a saving here, they have better offers.
