They don't give for free anymore. I had a freebie about 7 years ago but after it died I asked for another from the British Gas man but he said they now charge £35 for one :?

my local homebase had a 2 pack of card like carbon monoxide testers on the sale shelf for £3. They arent as complex as this. just a small patch that reacts to it.
#14
How long do the card testers last?
Is it worth buying the electronic one for £13 or just the cheaper card ones?

I have a plug-in one & this morning it went off. I called gas ppl out & thankfully nothing was found (too call out if goes off again though)., But I also showed him the cardboard one I have (black spot if carbon found) he said they are useless!......He also pointed out that yesterday he went to a man's house who'd just started using a plug monoxide detector the day before & it went off. The man had been living with a blocked flue. Thank god he'd bought a detector...
Best purchase any of us can buy

Picked up 2 of these which are a bargain price and look good, however when I fitted them noticed the batteries supplied were out of date. Am going back tomorrow to query it, will update outcome. Any one else had this problem? Perhaps you better check dates.

My post a few hours ago about the HONEYWELL SF450EN didn't last long as they are now all sold out but the following Item number: 220412550886 on e.bay offers the same model for £15 with a Buy If Now or you can make an OFFER,you must take into account the £3 postage,so if anyone is interested then why not make an OFFER of £10 and see what happens.
Good Luck.
