Eh? Single disc versions are £1.49 each, no Indiana boxsets on there for anything less that £19.50!

Terrible website for trying to use. Not sure if its sheer volume of people on there but keeps crashing. I've given up.......again

Sorry, I vote COLD... not on price but product quality.

I bought from them recently, and some (the majority) of the items I received were either soiled or obviously second-hand.

Personally, I'd rather pay a little more and buy elsewhere where I'm guaranteed *new*.

Ordered 7 items last week. Six sealed and perfect, one I would have had an issue with - if it wasn't for 99p and I really couldn't be arsed I would have returned it (which you're perfectly entitled to do).

Last time HMW had a clearance it was more like 5 out of 7 that were unsealed and possible returns. You run the risk with these clearances, but I've got no reason to think that Choices are worse than some others.

Thank you, terrible company but at these prices I'll risk it, again x

ive had 2 orders for cds delivered this week, both via HDNL which probably cost more than the price i paid for the cds lol.

anyway of the 13 cds, only 4 were sealed, and most of those unsealed were ok, but a couple had scuffed covers, cracks in the cases etc, but this is clearance stuff and no doubt returned stock.

i saw a lof of great prices earlier including the indy films for £1.49 - but they are dvds and unless its a tv series not out on bluray or a wrestling dvd, they just arent worth getting as they take up a lot of space and will not be worth even 50p in a few years.

Granted that you take your risk with clearance items - but they should be clearly labelled and you should be made to accept those terms when you order.

In the case of ChoicesUK, they do not make these distinctions thus making you believe that you are purchasing new items as you would with any other online retailer.

If I want to purchase unsealed DVDs etc, I'd go down a charity shop or Cash Converters.

appalling website oO

A lot of their stock is returns, I just ordered a cd box set for 1p plus £1.26 shipping via Amazon which links to Choices (£3.99 on the site) It states these are returns with scuffed covers etc.

So even cheaper through Amamzon market place

Well said. Exactly 50% of the items I ordered (I did a quick count) looked like they came from a jumble sale. I don't recall mention anywhere on their website that this was pre-owned stock (although interestingly, many of the same items are listed/sold as *used* by Choicesuk in Amazon's Marketplace!!!!).

You have to laugh when they state that when returning goods they 'must be returned in mint condition, complete with all contents and packaging'. Mint condition... yeah right. ;)

Nice one!! just got Call Of Duty Black Ops for £4.99 delivered!!
#15
I also have just received four CDs, only one of which was sealed and the others had scratched or cracked cases. For the price I paid, I can't be bothered to return them, but it's bad that they are not listed as used and/or returns.

So let me get this straight... people are complaining that things like the 99p CD albums are unsold stock from stores? That stuff is still new, just it's been to a shop then been moved on because it wasn't sold.

How do you think poundland get a lot of their stuff? I don't see people complaining about their stock formerly being stuff from other shops...

The difference with Poundland and shops like it, is that I can physically see the product in my hand before committing to buy.

That's internet shopping for you, that's why there are distance selling rules.

I bought quite a lot of stuff from choicesuk in their sale and as far as I could tell the only returned shop stock was some of the 99p/49p CDs and all of the CDs were in perfect condition, just some of the cases were very slightly cracked. I don't think that's worth caring about that much, plus if you really wanted to replace the case you could, Jewel cases aren't expensive.

I received twelve DVDs from Choices clearance sale this week. All twelve were sealed (a couple were a bit dusty) with the discs in perfect condition. It's the best sale I've ever come across.

Don't compare Choicesuk to Poundland. I've bought many a CD and DVD from Poundland and they have ALWAYS been in immaculate condition inside and out. 100% *new*. Poundland might source unsold excess stock, but everything they put on their shelves is clearly in *new* saleable condition. I cannot say the same about some of the items I received from Choices. Not just ex-shop stock, but pre-owned stock (complete with scratches/scuffs/scores to the disc surface). In fact, one of the CDs they sent would be graded as 'poor' condition even for second hand!

To be fair, maybe my dissatisfaction with Choicesuk is partly my fault. I've had a look around their website and it doesn't mention anywhere that their items are *new*. I thought it was a fair assumption to make though! Apparently not.

Bottom line, you pays your money and you take your chances... and after this experience I'll happily take my chances elsewhere in future.

BTW, the people who got 12+ perfect items should buy a lottery ticket this weekend!
