Cheaper to buy them individually then. Thats weird as supposedly multipacks are meant to be better value. Price will proably drop back down once they cotton on (either that or they will raise the price of the single bars !!)
P.S If its any consolation Tesco want £1.68 for these too!

Talking of quality i tried their half price orange & mango smoothie this evening and at only 99p its a 1/3 of the price of innocent and tastes just as good and ingredients seem good. Seems you pay a lot sometimes just for a brand name: £2 extra a litre in this case!!!!

Have they got rid of that stupid 5 for 4 & 4 for 3 offer in favour of this? Didn't quite do it for me, especially in the beer section.

Yes 5 for 4 on Beers Wines Spririts is now finished and as is 4 for 3 offer on ready meals which i agree were pretty useless offers like you'd expect from M&S. Lets hope they stick with these half prices from now on.

This is well timed as I'm about to start my annual detox...the cheap smoothies will go down well

...although personally I hope Sainsburys don't try to out-do Tesco's on the price cuts too much as it may mean the quality will suffer...and they **** all over Tesco, Morrisons, Asda etc, etc in that particular department!! :whistling:

No these aint price cuts...................just special offers.....so all these products will revert to normal prices soon enough but then touchwood there will be a whole lot of new offers and many of the offers aren't Sainsbury's own brand anyway so whether you get Coca-cola in Tesco, Sainsburys or your corner shop its the same stuff

I agree that the 5 for 4 offer didn't seem very inspiring, but the truth is that it offered the cheapest price per bottle for Stella for any UK store in 2007. You got 100 x 284ml bottles for £32 = 32p per bottle / £1.13p per litre / 64p per pint. I know you could get it slightly cheaper in cans with the Morrison's offers, but you can't knock 64p per pint for bottled Stella.

Well I missed that one, primarily because I don't drink lager unless it's from Germany or Czechoslavakia. I didn't miss tho' that the London pride came out at £1.43/bottle when Tesco were selling it at £1.26!

But if it was 4 for £5.00 in Sainsbury's surely thats £1.25 a bottle so pretty much the same - unless of course you just wanted the one.

Out of curiousity how come you only drink lager from Germany or Czechoslavakia?

It wasn't it was 5 for 4. London Pride in Sainsbury's is normally something £1.87 a bottle which is extortionate.

Brewed differently, normally without all the chemicals you'd get in British brewed lager. Less gas.
Budweiser for example taste much better from czechoslavakia than the same purchase from the UK.

hmm, when I was drinking czech bud I thought it was pretty horrid.. I now drink cider but it's hard to find when you're travelling europe :(

It's a horrid beer per say it doesn't mean that the Czech Bud is a tasty pint just tastier than a UK one. It all depends how you like your lager & I don't like gassy lager. I prefer the more subtle flavour of an European drop.

There is loads of stuff on offer at Sainsburys at the moment. They have reduced all heir seasonal stock and the stuff they got in for the sales. Depends on your store size and local competition. They opened a huge Tescos over the road from our local Sainsburys so competetion is fierce.

The Reinheitsgebot is why German beer is so good ;)

Crumbs I missed that one. That would've been a deal & a half...... probably would've been fed up of LP after 20 bottles tho' !

Thanks for this tip. Not often do I venture into Asda. Next time I wanna stock up on booze I shall venture this way. Only a few beers mentioned take my fancy tho'.

Offers don't end till 22/01/2008 so you might want to do another hit before then.
