it does puzzle me how much energy and emotion that people put into these comments. I would hope that someone would just write a reasonable review and leave out the drama. I like my machine a lot. It is noisy, but I have it in a place where I don't hear it all the time. The ice is softer than an ice cube tray in the freezer, but, you know what, I like that I can chew on it without hurting my teeth. The price is better than any other I have seen. I don't see a bacterial issue with the water, it is always refrigerated. I wish I had a refrigerator like I have had all my life in the states (ice and water in the door), but I don't, mostly don't have the room for it. I think this is a good product for the money. Both my husband and myself have really been enjoying ice filled drinks. If my flat were any smaller and I had to listen to it all the time, I might think twice about buying it. I hope this is helpful to anyone still considering a purchase.

Jesus, this sounds like the worst thought out piece of Chinese crap I have ever seen.
Over inflated RRP, and recycles the cubes continuously, making Ice cubes from old water, then leaving them to melt, and make the same against out of the same standing smelly water.
Get your RMA in asap under distance selling regulations, and just buy a £1 of ice every month, save a fortune inc no electricity costs.
Its not the worst, but its no good.

Ice cube trays is actually far better for me. I might of kept mine if the ice was bigger, harder and not so noisy. It really buzzes far far more than my family fridge freezer.
Here is my 2 cents: I have owned it for 2 days now and the product is what I expected at a lower price than I thought I expected to pay. I am American and am used to having ice, crushed or cubed, in the door of my refrigerator. I talked about buying an icemaker before I even moved here 2 years ago and now I have one. I like this product a lot. I spent all day in London today. I was tired and sticky with sweat after carrying groceries home. As soon as I came home I had a giant glass of ice with soda over it...omg...it was amazing. The machine does recycle the drops that melt, but it is constantly refrigerated, so I don't see a bacterial issue. If one is concerned about too much recycled water, just let it run dry and start again. I think it is a good product and worth the money. I had not thought about cleaning maintenance, maybe one a month run through a load with a SLIGHT bleach solution and DO NOT USE that load. What I do know is that I am pleased with the product. It isn't near my lounge or bedroom, but I can see how the noise would bother someone if it was. Oh, I also keep my Britta pitcher next to the machine, I don't want to have worry about scale build up.
