I ahvve one these already paid over £50.00 for one if your in the amrket for a universal remote, then this is what you want it deos everything, but is a little complicated, read up on it first as it may be over the top for most, but at this price its a steal, cheapest UK price is £45 + delivery on amazon, and even ebay is same price, low stock though so be quick

Its on playasia and priced @ £30.13 + £5 delivery but word of warning if you have never used play asia sometimes you can be charged Import tax upon delivery thats not the store but customs, just depends on whether it gets through unchecked or not, ive orderd over 50 items and paid tax twice but i would expect inclusive of eveything to not cost more than UK prices.

I own one and found it unbelievably complicated and time consuming to set up. Logitec force you to go through endless loops of set-up software that prevents you just programming the device to do what you want. You also have to connect to the Logitec server - a slow connection that often drops out right in the middle of the process.
This remote is no better than a normal learning remote and infinately more difficult to set up. Save your money.

I own one and love it.

Setting it up was to be expected, you load the Logitech software, enter all your makes/models of your TV/Satellite/Games Console/Stereo etc and then hit save.

Wait for it to upload the new details to the remote, and then hit "Watch TV" and it will turn your TV on, Satellite on, turn the TV over the the right channel.

Instead of having to use 4 remotes, I now only need one. Much loved.

Missed out on this the last time it was on HUKD as I was prevaricating too much. I ran a trial of the Logitech software which you can do without actually having the RC and thought it was a little bit overly complicated but at £35 I could be tempted.

Any idea what kind of level of duty you'd get stung for if it was stopped by customs?

20% .

Yeah about 20% or so. I based a quick figure upon being charged 4% import duty, then you pay VAT on the item + p&p @17.5% and I came up with a ball park figure of £42.90 total cost. Please don't take that as accurate though.

Think its worth a punt anyway, especially seeing as how I've already wrecked the remote on my new Inverto PVR

I have one of these too....the Logitech software is a 'festival of suck'. As PeterN mentioned, endless loops of (sometimes) obtuse questions, when all you want is to get a simple change.

Plus it uses a lot of 'soft' keys meaning lots of scrolling on the tiny LCD screen to get the programmed remote key you need. (& here was me thinking the remote was to help me save time). For example, if I want to change the input on my AV receiver to CD, I have to hit the right scroll key while squinting at the tiny screen until I see the word 'input CD' & then hit the soft key adjacent to it - euuugh.

In short....this remote sucks canal water thru its backside (which might make it very useful for parts of flooded Gloucestershire, but not my dry living room)

It's a big shame that some people find these remotes suck or say that they are no better than a normal learning remote. I have used various universal remotes now (cheap and expensive) for aprox 10 years and this is the first remote that I have used that can completely replace all my existing remotes and can be used by the wife with ease. It even has a help button and built in 'wizard' in case she gets stuck.

True, to get the best out of the remote it is necessary to a fair amount of time setting it up but you will be rewarded by your efforts once it is done.

I don't understand irksomeremnant's comment

'I have to hit the right scroll key while squinting at the tiny screen until I see the word 'input CD' & then hit the soft key adjacent to it'.

On my Logitech remote, I press 'Activities' then press 'Listen to CD', a total of 2 keypresses. The remote will then automatically switch the amp over to the CD and switch of any other devices that are no longer required. (i.e if I was watching TV then it would automatically be switched off). Ok, Yes you can still use the method irksomeremnant mentioned but there is no need to if you configure a 'Listen to CD' activity into the remote.

We have three TV's in the house and each one is now accompanied by a Logitech remote.

thanks OP. Ordered one. even if you get stung by customs, it should work out cheaper than many other places. And there's always the chance that you won't :)

The uk carrier will also charge you for getting it through customs. It's a long time since I bought something from abroad but last time Parcelforce charged me £5 to get a digital camera through customs.
