If you're that much of a couch potato, i seriously doubt whether you'd get up and go to lakeside for a 7am store opening, coz you can pretty much guarantee these will be sold out by 7.05am :P

I would be very surprised if they sold out that quick Best Buy are opening their 1st store in the UK and will not want any negative press. I am sure there will be ample stock:thumbsup:

my friend brought a £500 Marantz rc9500 remote a couple of years ago, he's into home cinema stuff and converted his garage into a home cinema room, guess he has money to burn.

i wouldn't even pay £99! but hot deal :)

although that is a cool looking remote

and it's a very good remote if you have loads of different components such as tv, surround, ps3, sky, etc..... it really is a god send for me. I dint pay 300-odd quid for it though

Is it just me or do these deals seem a little pointless ?

does it really work for the PS3? according to the Logitech website its not compatible with the PS3, as the Remote has no BT functionality/

You need to buy an addon which converts IR to USB. Logitech sell their own for a fairly hefty sum (£40?) but you can buy a cheap PS3 IR remote and use the adapter from that.

gutted i've been after one of these but wont pay the £300 price tag.

Also love when you go to a site and click on a category button and get:

"Unable to connect to database. Check database connection information and make sure the database server is running."

Oh, I'll just nip in the server room shall I make sure the Oracle service is running on it still! Windows BSOD no doubt ;0)
#14
not local for me but would appreciate if someone that's going picks one for me as long as they aren't limiting to one per customer. I will of course pay postage plus a little thank you on top for your trouble.

Cheers

Whats the need? and how is it a god send lol, I watch my sky, got my ps3 connected and a wii,can switch to dvd player all with the remote that comes with it like any standard tv, and for my speakers I have a remote or I have to do a horrible task, walking 8 foot to my system!!! anyone who buys one of these is a lazy *******, and most likely stupid to be spending excess money on a remote control

People who spend £10k on their AV systems ;-)

These ones work best resting on a couch arm, I prefer the traditional remote layout that the Harmony One has.

You have a very simple system. It's not meant for you...

I'd have 7 remotes (plus a PS3 controller) cluttering up the place if I didn't have my Harmony One. Instead I can put them all in a drawer and keep the place tidy.

Also, my GF could never work the system without that remote!
#19
I agree entirely. We used to juggle with remotes about 2 years ago until I got a Harmony 785.

To be honest, I don't actually think I could work out how to switch things on now, without that :whistling::whistling:

The logitech remotes are amazing and really worth it if you have a few devices to turn on (an amp for example) but this remote is a total waste of money even at £100. it does nothing that the cheapest logitech can do and its actually harder to use. Limited amount of virtual buttons on the screen at once and harder to press than normal buttons plus you will find yourself pointing it at the wrong angle so you can see what your pressing. Just find the cheapest 515 555 or whatever is on offer it will do the same better and for a lot less.

Just my opinion.

all gone....

Why do people buy anything expensive, because they can afford it. This site seems to be against anything that isn't 20p off a tin of beans because 'it's stupid and who would want one of these, I wouldn't pay £5 for a remote".
I have been looking for one of these as I have a philips pronto (£300 new) but prefer the colours on the screen on this one. I don't live anywhere near the store so can't get one but it is still a cracking deal, don't vote cold just because you can't afford one.
#23
I had the 1000 (£300 then) - very good remote but it's not the best Logitech make, their best remote is the Logitech One.Costs £99 and is better than the 1000/1100 - having said that if they were close to me, I'd buy one for £99 without thinking.

Go buy it - the least it'll do is double your money on eBay.
#24
this is quite hot i wouldnt personally buy it thou HOT
#25
I had one and sold it, far to complicated and difficult to get right and is no way a replacement for a Sky+ remote.
#26
They had 100, I was there at opening and they were gone instantly. Really expected them to have more than 100. Poor show for such a big store.
#27
voted cold as it is store specific and not nationwide.

good remote though and a bargain if you got one for your Av setup. I have the Harmony one and would have liked to have bought this at the price, but being hindred by yet another HUKD store specific thread which got my hopes up.:x and a remote control which should be operated by one hand, not 2 hands and the rest of your family's. So yet again this is over engineered and a peice of junk. Sorry Logitech and to all the Harmony 1100 fans.

would have been awesome to buy one online. 'Instore locally' sucks! :-(
#32
BB told me they had 50 at launch but they were indeed all gone by 7:05 this morning.

95% of them will end up on eBay I reckon :-)
#33
Yup, 2 on there already!

They were obviously making a huge loss on these.

It's a promotion to get people to the store, not a charity! :)

They possibly even have more in stock, but the offer was first 100 only, for obvious reasons.

coudnt agree more - i have the harmony one which is great - otherwise id need 6+ remotes......i paid about £80 for it....having said that i wouldnt pay £380 for a remote - cant see how they can justify £220 extra rrp for this over the one remote (rrp £160)

Ah, they told me 100, but I'm sure it was less, 50 sounds much more like it.
#37
i was they first in store, they had around 50 no more,
#38
I have the harmony 525 and it is pretty good..... can be a bit buggy though.

I almost cried when I missed this.
