Also had to at this price. Thanks op. Finally something that's gone my way price wise. Everything I've bought has gone at least half price a few days later.

Even cheaper thanks to the bespoke vouchers, cheers OP

Compared to the old harmony one, I hate this version with a vengeance. That said, show me something else on the market that's as good. Good price though. Great find.

If you use more than 1 remote for your telly (eg Sky, Blu-ray, DVD, WDTV) then get it - you won't regret it. You'll kick yourself for not getting one sooner
#21
Got it. Didn't even know I needed one, but got it anyway!
#22
can i use this with my HTPC and xbmc?
#23
I have the Harmony one remote, great remote controls. Not sure of this one for me without physical number buttons though

Couldn't resist at this price!
Thanks OP

had one of these but sold it. brilliant remote but prefer the Harmony One.
#26
I've had one of these for a couple years now, and it's a great remote. Far more reliable than my old Harmony 1000 (that thing was a pile of crap).
#27
the ps3 adaptor is on sale on the Logitech website too, £16.99 + shipping (cheaper than Amazon).

The Harmony One without coloured buttons is far more of a handicap than this without numbers.

Essentially its an all in one remote to replace all your other device remotes. That alone makes it worth it if you have several devices to control. But additionally it provides Macros (set of button sequences) which allow you to simplify tasks. I currently have an Xsight remote which is similar, but the Logitech remotes/programming software tends to be more polished.

As an example in my living room without an all in one remote I would have:

Sky remote
Second Satellite box remote
TV remote for main TV
TV remote for Kitchen TV (its large open plan living space, hence two TV's)
Surround sound remote
IR controlled light remote, for main lights and ambient LED lighting
PS3 remote (to control this via an all in one IR remote you will need an IR adapter for the PS3)
HDMI matrix remote

The all in one replaces all these remotes with a single one. More over it makes switching sources much easier. For exampleI just press watch Sky and the Macro: Switches TV on, switches TV to correct source, switches HDMI Matrix to SKY source for living room TV, switches on Sky box, switches surround sound Amp on, switches Surround Sound Amp to Sky source.

Now say I want to watch a BD on the PS3, again I just press Watch PS3 and the Macro takes care of switching everything over. I want to DIM the lights, again I can just use the same remote, or even have a Macro to switch all the main lights off and switch mood lighting on. And then when I go to bed I just press the Good night button and it switches everything off.

There can be some complications with boxes that don't have discrete on/off functions for example. But by enlarge these remotes simplify functions which get exponentially more complex the more devices you have.

Only concern I have is wether I'll be able to cope without the physical keypad buttons, but at this price its worth a shot.

Can this be used with the Logitech Harmony Hub?
#38
Cheers OP went for this.

Using harmony 650 at the mo and its been great, dont really need to 'upgrade' but for £55 cannot complain. Will shift the harmony 650 for £40 anyway so not too bad after all.

Yes it can. Much better than the simple remote that comes with the hub (particularly if you need to 'fix' things like inputs). At this price its a no brainer.
#40
Is this fussy on type of battery like the 650? I nearly binned the 650 for constant resetting but turned out it didn't like my re chargeables. Loads of posts about this.
Presume this would be an upgrade....not sure the wife would be convinced.

£170 due in Amazon vouchers re Quidco - bet they come tomorrow.....
