Even better for morethan customers!

Bear in mind that you don't get proper feedback on these, just rumble effect. Personally I was interested till I found that out, now I am just going to keep searching for the MS one at the right price.

These are brill, so much more fun than the MS one, better built, and at a bargain price!

As only a casual racing gamer, any distinction between rumble and force feedback isn't really putting me off, I usually turn vibration off on all games anyway. This wheel looks the business and looking forward to trying it on GRID. Heat and rep given.

I bought this last week at £27.99 (grr) and finally got to sit down to use it yesterday..

Forza 2 was always hard with a wheel I found, and with this its no different, but PGR4 and GRID feel so natural I'll never go back to using a pad.

Just for info, I find it very comfy using it on my low sofa, sort of sat in a Lamborghini driving position with this http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00120818

better than the MS one, I think not. Rumble is poo compared to real force feedback.

Relax young'un, just my own views after owing them both. I'm sure a serious 'gamer' clocking in many hours a week, the MS unit would be a superior experience, but the price reflects it. As a pick up and go item to a casual gamer the Logitech unit is perfect.

As some one who has had them both is there really that much difference? I have been hankering after a microsoft one but at £70 it's a big out lay. The baragin hunter in me is saying this would be ok but i have had steering wheels on the original xbox and just didn't get any "feel" for the car.

What i'm getting at i suppose is does it "feel" realistic, understeer, oversteer etc or is it just rumble.

I've also read that the logitech one feels more robust in the hand.

Basically i want a steering wheel that will give me a great driving experience but i only get to play about 3-4hrs per week max. I love karting but cant afford that to often so i'm looking for some home racing.

You opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Does this steering wheel have any "dead-zone" adjustment?

@ courtster: Do you have any pictures of the wheel setup on the laptop table you brought from Ikea? Does anyone else have any ideas as to how this wheel could be mounted on something whilst using it on a sofa or armchair, without having to build something? (As the £7.50 delivery charge from Ikea has put me off a bit........)

Thanks :)

I'm interested in above comments too, not sure how I would use it on the sofa. Having looked for some reviews, here's some info: (taken from Teamxbox review)

There’s no way to set up the Logitech DriveFX Wheel for dead zone and sensitivity, so you’ll be at the mercy of the software if you need these items changed.

As for using on the sofa, here's a pic somebody posted on the Amazon site:

Still not too sure though......

EDIT: and while typing this post it's gone out of stock, guess that's made my mind up :)

So if the wheel has no "dead zone" adjustment, how does it cope with games that have none themselves? (I just thought I'd ask incase they do come back in stock!)

You can't adjust the dead zone but there is a button that you can use to adjust the sensitivity - it gives you three different settings. Strangely enough the button isn't mentioned anywhere in the instructions but I found a mention on a review and mine definitely has one.

its much more than just a rumble, the wheel will tug against u when ur turning etc much more than just a rumble, maybe not as good as the ms one, i havent tried it.

works great with
Forza 2 (cant play this without ma wheel)
PGR4
GRID
Dirt
Burnout Paradise (no feedback effect though)
and plenty others i cant remember to list.

If anyone wants me to try it on a game let me know.

gonna try copying that pic, cause it was messin up my pc desk with the rumbling and me turning like a mad man

also with the "dead zone" button i can always get a good sensitivity

I would love to get one, but I have nothing to attach it to. The idea of the laptop table seems a good solution, but I would like to see some pictures of it first. I have heard of people using a "TableMate" as a mounting device. Has anyone tried this?

Here's a picture of the "TableMate"

As daft as it sounds mate, before I bought a playseat I just used to mount it on the ironing board - adjustable and best of all free as every house probably has one already. You may feel a bit silly but it does the trick:thumbsup:

I use a keyboard stand for mine with a plank of wood laying across the top. Great wheel, I don't feel bad that I paid £30 for it a few months back.
#28
It now says that it's nearly twenty quid. Do I need to add a voucher to that price to bring it down to £17.93? Thanks :)

@ primaspecial: I like the idea of the ironing board, but my missus would rip the p**s out of me no end. I think she thinks that I'm sad to be playing games still at 31, but what can you do, right?
#29
The "Feedback" on this is only connected to the rumble output on the pads. The feedback on the MS one is programed into most big racing games. I have had a little play with a PS3 Logitech wheel and the MS one. What is really needed is a true Force Feedback Logitech for about £40, that would be the dogs.

Looks like it's gone up a couple of pounds.

I'm not really sure what you are saying. The feedback isn't rumble, you basically get additional resistance on the wheel when you turn it which is a bit different from rumble.....

He's saying this wheel doesn't have force feedback, which is true. It tries to emulate it using a combination of rumble and a motor attatched to the wheel that will work against you. It's a simple pseudo force feedback system that works off of rumble data rather than the force feedback data (i'm guessing MS are the only ones who can get at that, hence the compromise here). It's a really good effect, just not as good as that found on Microsoft's official wheel or those found on Logitech PC/Playstation wheels.
#33
does anyone know if this would work with forza 3?? thanks
#34
From the games I've tried it out with, it works with them all. including skateboarding and snowboarding games. The movements and buttons on the wheel just mirror those on a conventional pad.

How can you think we'd know whether it'd work with a forthcoming game though? You can expect that it should but we can't truly say without any inside knowledge.
#35
I have just got off the phone, after giving someone at The Hut an ear full. It turns out that my order for the wheel that I put in can't be honored because they can't get any more at that price (Even though on their website it says that it was due to be shipped out today) Now what do I do? I've even brought something to mount it on!
