This is a fantastic wheel for £34 - some reviews say this is better than the £80 MS wheel. The ebuyer price is £12 cheaper than the next cheapest price I found......

This thread has some links to reviews/comparisons of MS wheel and Logitech Wheel

Buy 2 to get free delivery and sell the other on Ebay for £40....

Couple of qs, is this USB and therefore PC compatible through XBCD?

also how many degrees will it go through. i posted an xbox1 wheel yesterday, just tried it today and it's only 270 degrees of motion from lock to lock.

Is it as good as the official one?

It's a shame it's not compatible with the PC.... but it's a bargain if you've got Forza 2.... or Forza 2.

Personally I think it's better. I bought the official one from Argos when Forza came out and found it very good but it's got a few problems. Firstly the bearings on it are plastic and people recommend opening it up and replacing them:

http://www.andrewdorey.com/default.aspx?p=360wheel

Secondly it seems to have a few issues, one being that halfway through a race it suddenly locks to the right for a few seconds, enough to send you into the barriers though! The other is that none of them seem to sit straight, or return to centre. This is really annoying when you're trying to be precise on a long straight.

I returned mine to Argos and got the Logitech wheel from Scan 2 weeks ago for 35 quid and this one is much much better. It does have it's own little annoyances like it's not wireless so by the time you've plugged it into the 360, plugged the pedals into the wheel and the power lead into the wheel you have to be careful not to get trapped in all the cables! Also you can't put it on your lap like the 360 one, it has to be secured to something. I suppose you could use something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Supido-Hyper-Drive-Portable-Racing/dp/B000NT8IDO/ref=sr_1_5/026-5212024-1282033?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1185693077&sr=8-5

if you haven't got anything to fix it to.

Finally it's not true force feedback like the 360 one is but instead uses Logitechs Axial Feedback, which is virtually spot on and I actually find it better.

It feels much more solid and well made than the 360 wheel and also comes with a 2 year guarantee which is nice.

Hope this helps someone, I'd definitely recommend it.

Lao summarised pretty well and I posted some links in the 2nd post......the only other thing I would add about the MS wheel is that for the force feedback to work it must be plugged into the mains. So you still have 2 cables (one to the mains, one from the pedals to the wheel) on the "wireless" one.

For £34 - the Logitech Wheel is an absolute bargain. I can't say how it compares to the official MS wheel as I not tried one of those. However many people who have tried both tend to favour one or the other. There doesn't appear to be a consistent winner.

The Logitech wheel does feel like a quality wheel. Pedals work well however the feedback takes some acclimatising to (it might not be initially as forceful as you expect). After playing for an hour or so you soon get used to it and feel it lighten at speed and stiffen down one side (if you scrape the barrier etc).

Its far, far better than a Madcatz wheel I had. If you are used to using a normal controller the wheel will take several hours to get used to it and you MUST adjust the sensitivity to suit you (there are 4 settings).

Which cable - the power lead or the lead to the xbox?

There are some ideas on the Forza forums for build your own platforms for the steering wheel. I've also seen a mention that a table mate can be used (on ebay and elsewhere) but they look a bit flimsy.....

Just buy a USB extension cable ... In fact I recommend you do that reguardless. I connect it to the 360 then around the table leg before connecting any controller leads (guitar hero) into that. That way if someone trips over the lead, it pulls undone from the extension rather than risk sending the 360 flying off the table.

As for tables I find a tilting over lap table works well. I recommend : http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500000701&langId=-1&searchTerms=8650036&go.x=13&go.y=5
.... I was lookin at theses last year, but they were 70 quid :w00t: .

FREE delivery is £15 for n.ireland customers! The shame of it.

its a good price if you cant afford the official wheel...... personally i couldnt do without proper FF now i am used to it, however for less than half the price, and, unless you are used to proper feedback you will think the force is mint as well.

as for the comments on the official wheel, its true, the quality control is ****! i have had 3 wheels, and every one different with its own niggles

(1 weak feedback, 1 wouldnt align centrally and now the one i have now, which is *almost* perfect.)

The LOGITECH is a bit of a bargain at this price!

The MS wheel certainly isnt worth the extra £50 or so (Mine cost £90!)

However i do prefer the MS wheel to the LOGITECH.
