cheeky yanks trying to steal our stuff.. u.s english.. grrrr.. its english.. lol

cheers though op..
#3
Was gonna buy one for uni, but then I saw it was a US layout, god damn :(
#4
whats the main difference in layout?
#5
Couple of the keys are switched around, # and @ iirc are along the top with the numbers and there probably wont be a £ sign on it. The enter key is also smaller. Thats usually the difference between US and UK layouts. I have it in my basket and im tempted to go for it, but im thinking it might be more annoying than its worth for saving a few quid.
#6
Is it possible to assign the uk layout to it, so that the £ is typed up although the actual key will show $.
I could live with that?
#7
Ty op, ordered one. I'll probably keep windows thinking I've got a UK keyboard and hope I remember where the UK keys would be on the US keyboard. worst comes to worst I reckon I'll probably just use stickers

I'm pretty sure it is. hope so :/

You'll be able to leave it in a UK layout on your PC and your Shift+3 will be the £ sign, but you may have issues with the likes of the # key not being assigned to anything (since shift+3 is where it is in a US setup). Hopefully someone who knows for sure will be able to clarify things though!
#9
The US layout keyboard is no different to the UK version (except visually). Its just the keys have different characters printed on them. Your OS is responsible for what the keys do (or in this case the Logitech software if you so wish). Just set it to English UK and remember where your £ and @ keys really are ;-).

I thought UK keyboards contained an extra key? (which is why im assuming there might be issues using the UK setup which would allow for the £ on this US keyboard, but would then not assign the # key to anything since there isnt one). I've not got a physical US keyboard though, im just going from problems ive had with a virtual one. If you can assign manually then it wont be a problem.
#11
just had a look at this image, and you're right blaze it is a fair bit different. guess I could try to map # or £ to one of its ridiculous number of macro keys?
#12
Great keyboard, got one myself a couple of years ago, only problem I've had is that the lights button is playing up now and has to be jammed to stop it flicking between each mode
#13
Hot!!

:)

Very good price for this keyboard.

It has been out a while now, and had both the G15 (two versions) and now the G19 released to supercede it, but that doesn't take away from what it does. Think gaming keyboard without the small LCD screens of its successors.

I had the g15 originally but had to sell it to pay off my insurance! Replaced it with a nice sidewinder x6 from Microsoft, its a much better keyboard than either the g11/15 IMO the keys feel so much better :P. This price is hot though so i will vote that way!.

A note about the compatability, dont worry it will work fine as my sidewinder was off ebay a german layout the only difference for me was the printed text on the keys but i just set it to english in the OS and it works just like an english keyboard. Now the one off ebay was faulty, got money back from the guy and MS replaced it for free and gave me an english one! :).

However the smaller enter key could be annoying.
#16
Nice spot on the smaller return key, that would drive me mad
#17
I might have been able to live with the US layout, because you can simply set the operating system to recognise the UK layout. However I can't live with that compact ENTER key. I always miss those on laptops, and even netbooks can get near full size enter keys, so I don't understand why this kb doesn't, unless it's a US convention.

I think somebody at Ebuyer made a stock purchase mistake..

UK keyboards have one key more than US keyboards, setting it to UK layout in Windows means you lose the / character though which can be a pain. # is still there (above the enter key).
#19
I have a G15 with a US layout ( typing on it now). My pound sign is Shift 3 £££££ so no problems with that. I can't ever find the backslash ( opposite to / ) key though. They key with it on does # or ~.

I think the keyboard is great and really like theblue lighting on the keys. If only I could find the character.....

Hot. Sometimes I wish my G15 had the blue lights and not the orange :(

I thought it was just me who didnt like the orange lights. I have mine either turned off, or dimmed right down now

I really don't think this is much of a deal, I'd rather spend a couple more quid and get an UK layout from Overclockers tbh.

Its not cold though so I'm not voting!

Agreed

People will getting hacked off with a US layout keyboard.
This is a particularly poor deal tbh

With delivery the overclockers one is £15 more expensive.

Not hot from me because of the US keyboard layout, it could be quite annoying
#25
Hot price, but the smaller enter key makes it a no go for me. Tried one of those keyboards with built in FPS pad a couple of years ago and the US style smaller enter key irritated me so much that it had to go back.
#26
noooo. I had a US layout keyboard last year and it drove me mad. It's not worth the saving.

My G110 has blue/red/purple (and custom mixes).
I use blue by day, red by night

Chavtastic!!!

great keyboard, but the unusual location of 'ESC' might be a problem for RTS players.
Usually they are in the top left corner, but obviously not this one :-D

I have a G11 and love it.
I often wonder whether I should have got the G15 tho for the extra 20quid, to have the LCD too, but tbh i'm not sure I'd have used the LCD that much...

Nah mate. Once the novelty wore off, I just set mine to flick between clock and CPU/RAM figures.

Gods sake wish id waiting and got this instead of the thing on big offers the other day

Funnily enough I find mine really useful (though it's on some Z-10 speakers rather than keyboard). Having the clock, RSS feeds, GPU/CPU temperature monitors and music track funtionality is great while gaming
#34
i had one and it stopped working after a couple of months. logitech were great with the replacement, it's just they replaced it with a us layout keyboard...the small enter does get annoying!
banned#35
Do they sell this or something similar to this, perhaps at a little extra cost, in a UK keyboard layout?
#36
I have had this keyboard for about a year. The best kb I have ever used. It is quite large though so make sure you have quite a big desk. When I use it I have my mouse infront of it sideways lol, for some reason I always put my mouse like that :p

That's correct, on the US layout the shift key is to the left of the Z key whereas on a UK layout there's a backslash key between the shift and Z keys. I guess it depends on your keyboard use but I find the US layout irritating as I use backslash/pipe frequently. The main European layouts (QWERTZ, AZERTY etc.) have the same physical layout although they can be tricky if you don't touchtype as the symbols are rearranged as well.

Epic deal, I'd prefer a UK layout but still... at this price!

I think my basic logitech media keyboard should continue to serve me well as I'm not sure what the macros could be used for.
#39
good price but mechanical keyboards with linear keys FTW!

Can you tell me how you get it to monitor gpu/cpu temps, would be useful, cheers.
