Curious, what are the actual uses for these? I mean there obviously are some given its popularity but its hurting my head being unable to think of some X)

I can only assume it's for people like me that feel a keyboard cripples their fingers. This way you get lots of buttons and a joystick. Seems a good compromise, but I haven't used one.

I don't have the this but a similar device(Razer Orbweaver) and I can't play games with out it now days.

If you are playing MMO and pressing lot keys, then these devices are lot more comfortable than keyboard. All the keys are in very close proximity to each other so your hand, specially the wrist does not move at all searching for keys. Also the Orbweaver, even has very nice wrist support built into to compared to this one so I find it even better.

Another thing is the buttons on these are bigger than the standard keyboards and so help if you have fat fingers!

Is your orb weaver easy to set up, so like per game settings in the razer program or have to set bindings in the games individually? I really do like the idea of these but at their usual £60+ price tag it was a bit steep X)

I have the orbweaver it's pretty simple, you can have a different profiles for each game etc.

I mostly use it for DOTA2, it's got better buttons for the thumb and, to me feels more comfy.

Looks quite interesting.

Can anyone remember the name of that gaming device that looked a but like a tablet but you inserted cardboard cards in to configure with different games?

These are also very good for people with motor skill problems, also helps with carpel tunnel.

G13 is excellent, it's fully programmable for any game. Just got myself a spare at this price.

The software detects which game binaries are running and loads your profiles for that game, some games come with API's which display additional game info on the screen. Each profile it loads can have up to three selectable and fully reprogrammable layouts and you can also build macros.

It's not just a different WASD layout like some gameboards.

On games like GTA V it changes the colour of the keypad depending on which character you are using in story mode.

I have always been tempted to buy one of these to play games. The layout just seems right. Tempted....

Mainly the wrist support and all additional buttons within reach compared to a usual qwerty keyboard.

Ergonomics mainly. I find mine way more comfortable than a keyboard due to hand position. The thumbstick isn't great for analogue movement due to it's position and the small top "grip". I largely bind it to weapon switiching. Lots of people use them for shortcuts in the likes of photoshop and lightroom as well.

The software is also great it's easy to setup autoswitiching profiles on a per application basis. I wouldn't go back to not having one.

Back down to 47.99 but the 30% offer has finished! Luckily there is that £10 off a £50 spend floating about today.
