I have the G11 loved it for a week although keys feel a little plasticy into the second week when you press the keys you get a kind of annoying weak squeak. Been wondering if to upgrade to another logitech or go for a razer or even back to an MS keyboard

Get a mechanical keyboard with linear switches and you won't look back.

Any examples? (Don't say Model M!)

EDIT: Ah, my research tells me linear means there is no click so the Model M probably isn't linear?

How are these? I seem to be fine using a basic Logitech Media Keyboard for my gaming...

I read that earlier. It is a fantastic article.

Does anyone have any information on keyboards that can be bought in the UK at reasonable prices? Importing a Filco would cost over £110.

I have a steel series 7g but there is the 6g v2 they cost a bit but will last a life time and you will never look back. Check that guide out it was the one that I read before I got mine.

I have this G15 keyboard. It's great... highly recommend it.

I have a G15, overpriced, and blah. The screen is more or less useless for anything. The function keys will get you banned in many multiplayer games. So that really just leaves a multimedia keyboard that costs £50 - which is expensive.

On the positive side I like the "Disable Windows Key" switch, mute button, and it is well constructed. It is won't be destroyed by liquids spilled on it unlike a few keyboards I've owned. Plus if you cannot type the backlit keys might be useful (and can be disabled).

I'd buy a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000, less than £15 and extremely well built keyboard with multimedia keys, mute, and calculator hotkeys. Plus, it has laptop keys which I love. For the price of a G15 you could buy three.

Cracking keyboard when the games support the screen, plus there are plenty of other plugins which can push info to it which is also good. Never paid anywhere near this though, had mine a year or so and pretty sure paid around £40 for it.

The keyboard is a cracking, well-standing keyboard. Great build quality and very pervious to liquids.

The screen is a good idea, but lacks support. About the only thing you can get on it is stat display for a few outdated games, a computer status screen and a few other small apps, but other than that, its just a gimmick. I never use it, it always requires extra drivers to use the screen, and I just can't be bothered to keep re-installing the software.

The G-Keys are VERY useful, I use them to quickly log me into websites, say I press "G1" and it goes to facebook, types in my username and password and presses enter for me to log in. Very useful.

I still have the ORIGINAL G15 keyboard that got released around 4 years ago, and its still going strong! I have bought many different keyboards during this time (wireless ones) and found myself going back to my G15 constantly for gaming.

Its so reliable and robust, money really isn't a factor considering how long its lasted through those constant CS frustration keyboard bashing moments or the WoW marathons that lasted for days.

Buy one and you wont ever look back!

Wrong! There are applications that allow you to have third party ones. Not sure about v2 support but they definitely have it available.

So do I except the backlight on the LCD has gone and it is a common problem which is annoying I cannot do anything about it now as I bought it ages ago.

I had several Microsoft keyboards before the G15, they lasted about 4 months before I had had enough and threw them out. I have had this G15 around 18 months now. To say the function keys will get you banned from games is utter tosh. The built in software just records key presses and plays them back. Blizzard have said publically that there is no problem with this whatsoever, only the third party software that does rather more advanced things.

To those who mourn the passing of the G15 Mk1, look for the Logitech G510. It has the original 18 macro keys.

I am sending mine back. It has a lovely action but I didnt realise you couldn't change the backlight, and I fecking hate orange. I am typing this on a £20 Advent keyboard where you can change the backlight to any shade or brightness you want. £50 for a keyboard stuck on orange? Logitech can feck right off. Plus I kept hitting the G keys instead of Control and Shift, that was a major pain in the ****.
