you need the 525 or 555

Been after one of these for a while. Excellent product, easy to use and set up.

Works well with Sky+ and just about anything else (ir) you want to throw at it.

As stated above, maximum of 5 devices at a time though.

do these have a ps3 adapter?

Yes they do, but you have to buy it separately.

http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&source=hp&q=harmony+PS3&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=VikBS9XbJoinnQea3bmQCw&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=1&ved=0CBYQrQQwAA

However, you might as well just buy the cheapest PS3 remote you can find since you are just after the IR capability anyway, you can get something like this and program it.

That one might not be in the database though but this one will almost certainly work ok

If its like the 555 that I have it can control any device ever created as if its not in the database you can add it yourself with the IR input feature to "record" your original remote control buttons.

Am I the only one that doesn't find it too much trouble to physically swap remotes when required?

Well it saves on 5 sets of batteries, let alone trying to find the other remotes the kids have hidden!

I have the 525 and love it! Backlit screen so can be operated in the dark and it controls my htpc and other gubbins connected to it

I dont find it so bad if you change to do a different activity, but if say I am watching sky TV. I have a surround sound system and sky can only change the volume on my TV not the surround sound so that's. So I need sky remote to navigate around and switch to volume remote for surround sound, plus TV remote if I want to adjust picture settings.

Then the real pain arrives, I want to watch a video on my xbox.

So I put down sky remote, pick up Xbox remote and turn xbox on, the xbox start up sound is a lot louder than sky so I have to reduce surround on surround sound remote. Also I have to change the video input on my TV remote and change the audio input to the correct input on my surround sound.

This remote does not just emulate multiple devices, with one press it will select all the correct inputs and turn all devices on and off as required.

Ordered, thanks!

Excellent deal. It is not so much about swapping remotes as the ability to press a single button so that all you devices sync e.g. I press one button 'Watch TV', this turns the TV on, changes the channel to HDMI 3 (for the PRV), it turns the PVR on, then it turns on the Amp and changes is to Digital TV for the output. So this saves me finding 3 remotes, and pressing numerous buttons just to watch the telly!

No, you're not. But until manufacturers agree on a standard and supply multi-function remotes as a default, this has it's advantages.

That's exactly the reason why this is so good

I'm guessing you have a relatively simple AV set-up then?

If I want to watch TV I need to turn on my TV, put it to the Freeview tuner and turn on my AV amp and set it to "TV". To play Blu-rays I need to turn on my BR player, switch the AV receiver to "BD/DVD" and the TV to HDMI1. To play my PS2 I need to switch my AV amp to "Game" and my TV to Component and turn off the BR player. To listen to CDs I need to turn all that off, turn my amp and set it to "CD" and turn on the CD player. etc. etc.

I'd have a total of 5 remotes I'd have to constantly switch between. If my girlfriend wanted to watch TV she wouldn't have a clue. With the Harmony she just hits "Watch TV" on the touch screen

Doesn’t bother me to much either, though I have a fairly simple set-up. I’d be very tempted if they did one that was compatible with the PS3 though (using Bluetooth without the need for adapters), as I still haven’t got around to getting a PS3 remote.

ordered. Nice.

Dont' take my word for it, and don't take anyone else's word either, but before spending the money, just look at the Logitech forums, and also user reviews, not the trade/advertising "reviews" and see just HOW easy everyone there has found it to set up with everything!

The fanboys, will now accuse me of trolling, (as well as every other wrong on the face of the planet) it isn't trolling though, as I am not wanting ANYONE to reply or respond at all, and I certainly won't answer to your messages, so that pretty much stops that accusation dead in it's tracks.

The message to everyone is do your research before buying, it's a drag to send stuff back! In fact, it is good advice for ANY item, I would say

Do these work with projectors as it doesnt seem to have them on the compatibility list.

I think this is expired now. Only market place sellers seem to be selling it.

Looks like you guys took all of Amazons stock before I got chance to get one

#37
still available on Amazon for 24.99, but appears to have a long delivery time.

when you go to the deal, select "3 new from 24.99".
amazon is the first in the list but with 1-3 months delivery ??
#38
This is still available. Just look at "More Buying Options" on the right hand side. Thread needs to be unexpired.
#39

Would this support a PC with XBMC?

It should do. I've been using a Harmony 525 for the last couple of years with my home cinema setup which includes an Xbox modded to run XBMC. I guess you'll need to tell it you have a Media Center PC remote.

Ordered one of these to replace my 525 as the fwd and rew buttons have worn out. To be fair it's had a lot of use!

As others have said, it's not just a one-for-all type remote. It will switch inputs, turn on devices etc. with a single button press. The family wouldn't have a hope of controlling my AV setup without it.

Pete
