This was £45 on Play.com. CCL sells it for £39 but doesn't have stock. This is the best deal I've found.

Control your entire Home Entertainment system with the touch of a single button! Simply select an activity (e.g., "Watch TV", "Play a videogame", etc.) and your Harmony remote will send the right commands so you don't have to juggle remotes or remember a sequence of buttons. The Internet-based setup is a breeze. An intuitive setup wizard will walk you through the steps to get the Harmony remote to work with your systems. The online database contains all the information of 2,500 manufacturers and over 80,000 models of components. The Harmony 525 makes Home Entertainment accessible to the whole family.

a top remote, I swear by mine.

This same deal was posted fairly recently. Looks like it's slightly cheaper now though.
#3
I think the other deal was for the 555, or at least another model - they still have other models too. They're a bargain!

why so?

I usually swear by these Harmony threads - Tom & Jerry should be along in a moment to start a slanging match over the relative merits (or not) for these things

Just dont drop them on the floor if you have a hard surface.
Cracked the screen on mine & theres plenty of similar stories around the web
& logitech dont sell the spare parts.

I wouldnt by one again, to expensive for somthing that breaks when falling 12"-15"

Great remotes but can be a complete nightmare to setup.

People either love it if they set it up easily or hate it if the setup is too painful.
#11
Found this deal also and bought one can take some time to set up but great item therafter especially if you have av amps etc heat added

I usually say that the television remote provided does me just fine and then get yelled at by enthusiasts.

If you only use one remote then there's no real point in getting this. Especially if it's a decent remote.

My Harmony, at the press of a button, turns on my TV and switches it to HDMI, turns on my reciever and switches it to Digital In and then turns on my PS3.

Without it, I have to use two remotes and the controller. And then hit the one source button on the TV remote about three to switch through to HDMI as well as open the cabinet to see the receiver so I can switch it to the right input.

yup, terrible isn't it that you only have to drop a delicate piece of kit with a glass fronted screen on to a hard surface and it has the audacity to break!!

never in my life have I seen someone post a negative comment about a piece of kit based on their own clumsiness.

FWIW - these remotes do take time and effort to set up, but for me with PS3, Wii, Sky plus and each using different audio channels on my decoder, its invaluable.

First, try telling your missus that to watch TV she just has to switch on the TV, set the input to scart1, turn on sky, turn on my decoder and set the input to audio 1...

OR,

hand her a remote that says 'Watch TV' beside a single button and the remote handles everything for her.

I know which I prefer.

Thanks, ordered (eventually, Misco's order form has to be the worst I have ever seen).

To be fair, remotes are often knocked onto the floor accidently - I agree if you are spending this amount of money on a remote, you should look after it properly.

excellent remote just make sure the buttons dont stick or it stays on.

Yep. I wouldn't buy it personally, though. Using the controller to turn it on is just as easy seeing as you're using the controller to play a game anyway. Unless you use your PS3 for a lot of BDs I guess.

Cancelled my Amazon Harmony 525 (which BTW I ordered in December but still had'nt been despached after 5 weeks) :x

Ordered yesterday from Misco, dispached this morning :-D
#21
Does anybody know how this compares to the Harmony 555 model?
#22
I have had one of these for a couple of years, and my family and I could not live without it. Which is why I am going to buy a replacement because the buttons gradually become less and less responsive to the point where I now have to press so hard on some of the buttons that I nearly break my finger everytime I use it. Brilliant device if you have complicated AV / MCE requirments but don't expect it to last more than a couple of years before it may need replacing.

I received mine from Amazon but only after complaining and then getting a phone call back - they then shipped it priority and arrived within 2 days - cheaper than this deal.

Great remote - dropped it load (got two kids) and still ok.

yes of course you should be able to throw it onto the hard floor and expect it not to do any damage

Yeah, it works with xbox 360.
I have it as play XBox, it switches on my tv, (but it does not take it to correct output, remains to the one you left last. :/ ) switches my Logitech Z5500 to Optical, and switches on the xbox. quite hanty that with 2 buttons you more or less are ready to play
