Great deal for this remote...next cheapest is amazon at £59.99 and last time this was a VIP offer at £49.95 so must be good deal now at £39.95

Thanks to its colour screen and one-click activity buttons, the Harmony 650 remote control will become an indispensible part of your AV system in no time.

The smart colour display shows just the icons that you need it to; for example, favourite channels or popular demands can be activated with ease, without having to navigate through multiple menus. As with other Harmony remote controls, the 650 also offers one-click activity. You can select functions such as "Watch TV", "Listen to the Radio" or even "Watch a DVD". With this one touch, the Logitech Harmony 650 remote will turn on all the relevant units in the right order so there is no waiting around.

Programming the 650 is a joy. Simply connect to the Internet, instruct the browser as to your components and then let the software guide you through the set-up process. If you have any problems, then Harmony also offer live support for additional assistance. With the world's largest AV control database, the Harmony 650 will support more than 225,000 devices from more than 5000 brands - with the list still growing. Whether you have an old VCR, the latest Blu-ray player or both, the Harmony is more than likely to support them.

With the ability to replace five remote controls, now is the time to get your coffee table back and free yourself from the clutter of multi remotes. True harmony!

They are a regular line and not clearance so I am sure if no stock you can order one in store if they have no stock to collect later or have delivered.

Good luck

Picked one up from Chambers St in Edinburgh. They had more.

I'd have bought one if i wasn't hanging on for this no show One4All Xsight!

Utter b@$tards! Bought one of these from their Stockport branch a couple of weeks ago for £59.95! No mention that it was gonna drop! Oh well, win some lose some!

Incidentally, they had at least another 3 or 4 on the peg at that point.

great deal, I just bought a 600 for £40 and thought I was doing well!

Not a great product to be honest - pretty much never gets my stuff switched on correctly. The TV will always be on the wrong input, or the speakers will be off, no matter how long you stand there pointing the thing at your setup.

One thing to keep in mind is that this remote can actually make certain things more difficult - for instance, if I want to just switch my TV input (say, from sky to xbox) you have to press several buttons and hunt through a menu.

Still, marginally better than having 5 remotes - but only just.

Easy - set it up as an activity. press one button, it will change your amp, tv, turn off sky, no problem. thats how i have it set up.

As for your first point - tv on wrong input, its the way you have set up the remote. I have the 700 mind you but reprogram the remote for that activity

Don't really agree with this, having used an H655 for years then 650 for the last 6 months. Yes it does take some setting up to begin with, but the whole idea of being able to specify soft-keys and also reassign any physical key on the remote means that you could map any of these to your TV's input function. The first time you set it up there will always be something that you've forgotten, the beauty of the Harmony is that there's nothing to stop you going back and tweaking the screens, buttons and macros as many times as you want until you have all your common functions within easy reach. Even my Panasonic TV (whose inputs have always tended to be a black art for setting up correctly in all in one remotes) seems to work better with this one.

Voted hot, great remote.

You have got it set up wrong matey, it is not the easiest in the world to set up and takes a little itme but once done it is dead easy and only 1 remote. Try reproamming it....

Just bought mine ... installing now. One odd thing - I already have a 515 that I use in the bedroom. In order to keep that and set up the 650 I need to create a seperate account for the 650. Now that just seems a little bizarre.

after my sl1200 and macbook pro this is the best thing i've ever bought, wouldn't be without it

can I plug this app into the net and push a button that says "make this work like my broken sky sat box remote" ?

They probably don't know about price drops until the day before/the actual day it happens. I used to work for Electronics Boutique and it was very rare to learn about anything in advance of the day. During the night the tills just spat out a long receipt with all that day's price changes - which we actioned when we got in in the morning.

Couldnt agree more - its real pot luck if an activity is successful. More often than not, it wont work properly.

My old 515 worked much better for the same devices.

It is easy enough to change a key to be your TV INPUT CHANGE button though. I use the '*' key.

Agree with everyone - you don't have it setup properly.

I bought the 'Blemished Box' Harmony 700 from Logitech about 2-3 weeks ago using the code in the post below. The remote is still available on their site.

I also went through TCB, which will make it £50 for the remote once it is paid. I am really happy with the remote and it was quite easy to setup; although I checked that all the devices were in the database before buying.

Have to say the man is right, i have the 600 and it does not do very well at all. the activity,s are poor. Devices work but i am not that impressed. i have a 300 and that does the job fine.

No, it just means you've not set it up correctly.

I can't comment on the 650, but the 555 I have is amazing, and always gets everything on the right channel / input etc.

It took me a while to set it up (and yes I had to go back and tweak things several times before it was perfect), but now everything is incredibly quick and easy. My wife thinks it's the best gadget I've ever bought, as she no longer has to fiddle with 7 remotes!
#22
Disagree with the "not set up right" comments. The remote does sometimes not turn on an activity correctly sometimes, although pressing help usually cures the problem.
The remote even prompts you when it thinks something is not switching on/off as it should do.
All in all a very good product I reckon.

Thanks for the suggestions guys - I'll take another look at setting it up but I stand by my original comment - if you want to chance just one setting (i.e. switching input without switching the devices on/off - useful if you want to check something on TV without powering off your xbox in the middle of a game) then it takes a couple of taps.

It's possible that my setup is a bit more complicated than most with things switching on/off in sequence, but about 50-70% of the time it won't do what I tell it and I have to push "help" to get it to re-send the signal.

Anyway, good to know that it's not a completely duff product (possibly just a duff brain) - here's hoping I never have to push that frackking "help" button again!

Just popped (tho' did call 1st to make sure it wasn't wasted journey) to Southampton branch and picked one up. My wife trod our few years old Harmony 555 last month and they're really not the same when the screen is totally fubar! Had been pondering what to replace it with and at £40 can't complain!

Love my 650 and like others have said if it doesn't work with your equipment, you have it setup wrong, as they work flawlessly. I can agree it takes a while to setup and get things as you want them especially if you have a complicated setup. Mine controls my tv, cable box, amp and mac mini/plex and is simply awesome.

Even the girlfriend finds it easy to use, although she did think I was a complete nerd when I spent ages photoshopping all my channel icons.

if it was setup incorrectly then the activities wouldnt work ever.

Mine works about 50% of the time, sometimes missing devices when turning them on.

My 515 works every time.

I have noticed that the signal strength seems very poor compared to my 515 so this may be the underlying cause of people stating its not working 100%. Have to point the remote at the devices from a short distance too but I can be out the room with the 515 and that still works perfectly.

exactly what I have to do and Help fixes it so proves the activity is set up correctly, just that its poor at sending them.

Just an update for anyone coming across this thread:

Have had a fiddle with the settings, tried various options and the remote still has trouble turning everything on. I stand by it being better than having loads of remotes - but only just.
