Jump to unread Post a CommentAm on my second Harmony 515, but it's reaching the end of it's life. Love it, but that model seems to be discontinued now.
This looks like my best bet for a replacement, but I'm not liking the look of the activity buttons. "Listen to Music"? I want my own labels (none of which will include music). Yes you can reprogram the macro, but unless you crack out the tippex the label will be wrong.
I'm just being picky, aren't I...
Heat added, anyways. Great price.
Would this be a good all in one replacement?

In exactly the same boat, love my 515, but it's getting a bit old, especially the hard buttons like volume. Plus the Mrs. not keen on the clicking (quite loud) of the hard plastic buttons. The 700 does look all soft buttons but not sure about those activity buttons at the top. Plus another great thing about the LCD on the 515 becuse of the simplicity it lasts ages on a set of baterries, hate having to change batteries constantly which I'm guessing the 700 will be inferior to the 515 in that regards.
Also heard that some of the newer models are more stingy with the number of activies/devices you can have, that true?

Yes it would, as long as you have a max 6 devices. I have TV, Freesat, Blu Ray Player, Amp and Xbox on mine. Never use any other remotes.

It does have max 6 devices. The buttons are softer than the 515, which I had before, rubberised feel and silent in use.
Also it has rechargeable battery build in. So no more replacing them :)

Thanks, going to order now
Your Sky remote has programmable macro functions allowing you to switch to a number of other devices and control them all even better than their supplied remotes?
Mine doesn't...
I can see why you opened this thread and made your post. You truly have a Sky remote to make other folk jealous.
This is so much better - yes, the screen is smaller, but it's clearer IMO. The hard key for watch TV is handy - I used the Watch Movie one for the blu-ray and then set up the other entries I wanted on the screen - you only see two at a time, but its enough.
Much easier to charge (now the adapter just plugs straight into the USB port) and programmable over the Internet whereas my old remote had to use on the Logitech software installed on a PC. Had mine a week now and not needed a charge so far - very happy with it.
Wow, how do you use a remote control for 7 hours in an evening? You must be the most indecisive TV viewer on the planet (_;)
